That is a wise decision indeed bargib. I think its a great idea to keep new york no pking zone. Large enough and rich enough tomake experience and cash to get ready to explore. But small enough not to violate the pkers of the universe

Keep some things in mind though. This sort of customization is impossible via the server. PK is either on, or off all over. The resulting self policing in the area must be done manually!

Got any policemen /informant wannabees?. We're recruiting good men and women to serve a commission on the Elite server "keep Liberty safe" campaign. Rewards include an ample supply of the best of the best weapons / trade secrets of the universe / a map of all jump holes / a list of all commodities prices all over the galaxy / unlimited supply of credits and the direct ear of the server admins!!

(I'm just kidding but this sounded aweful cool to me)

Also, this sort of thing would only be enforced on servers controlled by admins who support this sort of venture. Othere servers may not be so kind or willing to support this initiative.

But it looks like the Elite server will be one of the largest out there so we can adopt any sort of build in "culture" or unwritten rule we want within the big boy.

Hey i'm game... but i want that unlimited supply of credits though :p

Im sure there are enough regulars who will enforce the server if and when requiired. If I can get to a high enough level I know I will lend a hand if called on.

I think the peace zone should be establish not with server rules, instead of lancer reactor regulars that simply protect some systems.

I am somehow sure that there will be some clans that will try to keep peace in "their systems" thats enough protection for the noobs.

From my standpoint of view, I will kill any pirate that attacks ppl that paid their insurence *evilgrin*

Hmmm, insurance, not a bad idea. What about a percentage? That way the noobs don't have to pay extremely high amounts

Well thats sounds cool. I will be an on call-enforcer. Any admin needing my help in the neuttral zone is welcome to ask me. However, I will need time to set up my broadband net connection. I will tell you when my services can be available.

BTW Im choosing the path of mercenary. So my fee will be quite large

But I'd perfer to be an on-call enforcer. So that anyone being fired upon in the ny system can call me for help. But if its accidental like hitting the space bar by accident. A comprimise can be agreed.

Killing somebody because they are killing people in NY wouldn't be the answer. It would be useless as death does not punish people that much. The answer is having an admin on 24/7 or as much as possible who can kick and ban the offending player. Just killing him would just let him come back and do it again.
