The Admin isn't paying that kind of attention, the game doesn't update your location until you launch i.e. if you die in the unknown system but respawn in gamma, it will say unknown until you launch

That is a normal bug. When you die, it doesn't update immediately.

Still...on a server with an admin known to apparently push the big red button on people for no apparent reason, I find some sense in some good ol' paranoia...
