We have finally found a server that seemed to be a good place for us Browclops Role-Players to move to. The Alpha Server 24/7.
No one has complained about lag until today. Heretic was on. Maybe 30 minutes later the server is down. Hip HIp Hurray for Modders. I went on Argonia-Station and everyone was telling me how they are abandoning Alpha Server because the modders have moved in. Another Hurray for the modders.
The Modders have won this battle and possibly the war on Browclops players. We have been searching diligently for a good server to move to. Now that we are so close, the modders may have destroyed it for us. I am getting tired of being a homeless Browclops player as are many otheres. I may be tagging along with DocFuglyMark and join the ranks of retired players. No server can replace Browclops.
The players that say Freelancer is just a game are technically correct. But the people playing it are real people and are spending real time. Multi-Player servers facilitate real communities. When you go in and terrorize them or bring there server down with mods, you have attacked a real community of people.
I on behalf of the Role-Playing community I am requesting that Alpha Server 24/7 be spared the modders' wrath. Role-Players can not fight you back. We have only the patch and server rules to fight you with and they have proven all but useless.
All modders please stay away from the Alpha Server 24/7. To this point you have ruined a lot of the non-modders fun. Have a conscience if you can and spare at least one server. This includes cloak detectors, speed mods, etc. No matter how innocent or harmless you may think your type of mod is, you are driving the Role-Players away.
If you refuse, then please explain why. I want to know why you can have no mercy on the non-modders and have chosen to drive them out of the game.
