It would seem quite a few people on this board believe the Corsairs know nothing about the nomads, and I tend to agree (except the NPC Corsairs patrolling near the Graveyard battle them all the time). A Corsair rumor says one person went into the jumphole and ran back with stories about the nomads, but no one believed him. The Corsairs in my opinion only know that their artifacts are alien, and that's about it. They find them quite useful, and they're not exactly explorers so who really cares where they came from.

BTW, the Outcasts have ships that are used by the Hessians, the Lane Hackers, and Lord knows who else. The Corsairs are original.

The Corsairs and Outcasts traveled on the Hispania to Sirus. When the nomads attacked the Hispania, they left many artifacts in the border worlds which Corsairs and Outcasts use today.

Hey, now this getting interesting... Im my honest opinion, Corsairs are idiots... I mean, they coulda stayed on Hispania and become Outcasts an smoke Cardamine all day... But nooo they go and screw up Ommicron Gamma... and they have no idea what to do with does artifacts.... "Oooh pretty", stupid Corsairs.... and that damned Titan flies like a hog tied cow trying to swim.....

The alien artifact description says they were made by beings that were here before us, aka Dom Kavash, at least that's how I interpret it.

As for the Corsairs being stupid, I couldn't have heard a more incorrect statement. Most of these artifacts are indeed utterly useless to humans, and the ones that aren't they've gotten the best ship lineup period from. I'm sorry, but the Corsairs just have the best ships. The Edge world/border world scum ships come in second and they are completely outmatched. The Legionnaire can torch the Dagger in a second, and even trying to compare the Stiletto and Centurion is rediculous.

I'll admit Sabre and Titan are pretty even, it's all give or take between the two, maybe I'll even say the Sabre's better on account that the Titan does have SERIOUSLY sucked manuvering. But overall, the Corsairs just have the best lineup. That doesn't come from being stupid, they knew what to do with some of the artifacts that they could actually get data from, and they knew to ditch the ones that were useless to the nearest House idiot. That's not stupid.

Ahhh, if this game was built on propotion, instead of Leveling Up-Getting Better Ships, the ships would all be nicely even... in there own way... And Corsairs are stupid.... I mean, the Outcasts have four factions that would fight to the last, just for Cardamine... who do the Corsairs have?? The outcasts have influnces everywere, the Corsairs only the Edge worlds, and Bretonia...and cardamine makes for exceptionly good reflexes... and Cardamine is thought to be something left by the Dom Kavosh... and the Outcasts know the truth about Nomads... and Outcast ships dont all look like demented clones of the Civillian fighters... an they dont have a freighter... beat that Corsair.

1. Corsairs can actually go somewhere and not drop dead if they don't have their daily pill. Take away an Outcast's drugs, and what do you have? A seriously dead Outcast. What happens when they run out of supplies?

2. Corsairs actually fight for their people and have a government. The Outcasts, on the other hand are a band of drug dealers that would be completely without any influence anywhere if it wasn't for their low-life braincell killing capsules.

3. The Corsairs have artifacts left by the Dom Kavash, and we've seen just how useful those things sometimes can be, aka what the entire Freelancer story was about. It wasn't about Cardamine.

4. lol, being rather subjective aren't we? Outcasts have ships that look like the Hackers ships, the Hessians ships, they probably didn't even make the Dagger/Drom/Stil/Sabre series, they wouldn't know how, they're too drugged.

The Corsairs at least just kill their enemies. The Outcasts drug their allies, ruin their lives, then go out and slaughter convoys mostly just for a thrill. The Corsairs need the supplies to feed their people. The Outcasts just want to screw every living breathing thing to be as utterly ruined as they are.

6. ROFL, the Outcasts know about the Nomads, sure you bet. They practically pay tribute to the very race who wants to utterly demolish all of humanity. They are complete traitors to the human race, which is a bit worse than being ignorant...

To summarize, the Outcasts only have one thing in mind, to completety drug or annihilate every human in existance, then screw anything else they possibly come into contact with into non-existance. Nice people.

The Corsairs on the other hand, even if they don't care about anything else, care about their people. They want to make biodomes to feed their people (so Synth Foods won't be lacking quite as much in shipments), they have made rituals, they have made laws, they've made themselves a culture. All the Outcasts have done is feel sorry for themselves by sucking as much Cardamine as they can possibly get their hands on.

The Corsairs at least care about their people, all the Outcasts care about are their drugs.

That raises something interesting though... what happens when the Cardamine is used up? Every planet has a limit, what happens when Malta dies? What would happen if it was conquered, or some biological virus was introduced. Kinda on shaky ground, aren't we?

Read the description of the Sabre, it clearly states ( Or it does in my memory) that Outcasts made it. And surely they wouldve created the rest of the range? And a society based on drugs? Hah, I luagh at your accusations!! Ours is a society based on revenge ... and we get to use cool Godfather refrences.... and who is to say Malta is not a planet specifically created for the manufacture of Cardamine by the Dom Kavosh? Who is to say that after 800 years the Outcasts havent developed efficient growing and preservation techniques? Malta will last a long time, it already has, and will outlive you...
