So when do we get to invade Earth?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

So when do we get to invade Earth?

I say we could kick the living you know what out of those coalition screw ups!

Why? that was 800 years ago. The wrongdoers are all dead. The victims of the wrongdoings are all dead. No point in going to war. It's as likely as Native Americans/Indians rising up against USA who took their ancestral land 300 years ago...

Going back to Sol, ok. But not with guns blazing. Even if you do that, perhaps there would be no Coalition at all to fight. Look what happened to the Alliance: it dissolved into 4 Houses that maintain only a fragile peace.

Well we at least need to find out what is there. I am getting real tired of sirious. Nothing to do... And why not go back and kick butt... Moses lived for like 900 years how do we know that isnt the average life expecency of these people with all of the technology! And besides there seems to be a lot of random fighting in this game so why not extend it to earth...

Well, could Sirius kick anyone's butt?

I mean, look at the situation. You have Liberty, the oldest and most established part of Sirius, yet they have the most pathetic ships. Bretonia, Kusari, and Rheinland (in that approx order) are progressively better, yet all have serious(no pun intended..umm, ok, that's weak ) problems with organized piracy. Hell, the "Pirates" have equal to better forces as the establishment.

If I lived in Sirius I wouldn't be thinking about kicking some "Earthling" ass, I'd be hoping and praying that the Earthlings didn't find Sirius!

I think any continuation of the story would either involve the various factions threatening the ruling order or Sol system forces reaching Sirius.

who cares if it is 800 years ago. If you have extra ammo to spare, lets go waste it on somebody....

Just look at the US, they can use up their ammo faster than they can produce it, so they shoot somebody. Osama, Saddam and the likes. And it is just too bad that some people are in between them, and it doesn't matter if you don't kill your intended target anyway...

@Ajim: for the last time, quit treating the old intro as canon! Earth being destroyed is not canon. The fate of Sol System is OFFICIALLY: unknown.

And Sandorski is right: before assembling any exploration-invasion/punitive expedition, the Houses should focus more on crushing terrorists and pirates and keeping the tradelanes safer for merchants. THEN you can start thinking about Sol.

Considering the News Broadcasts I've seen while with the Corsairs it seems more likely that they're going to be the ones to play a big part in a possible sequel.
Thems fighting words they're talking there.

yup.. since primus is close to Malta and they're gonna invade rheinland which is now puny without battleships...
@FF hey.. I was just imagening.. even if it is untrue just according to RUMORs pieced together and if they decided to change the intro.. well... change it..

Amen! I wonder if we could borrow Marvin the Martians big ass laser though? It would make things a lot easier. I mean who else has a giant laser already pointed at earth? And back to the ole 800 years thing... If we got into some kinda of realitivity question time does become quite irrelevent, which opens up a whole einsteinian can of worms, no?

Post Wed May 07, 2003 11:55 pm

Well, ofcourse I can't know for sure, but I suspect that you have to fight for The Earth in a sequel or an expansion. Remember the last words in the intro?
"We will never forget." ;D

How would that 800 years thing open up an Einsteinian can of worms...?

Personally I think the only mistake the programmers made was to set this game in Sirius, considering that Sirius is so darn close to Sol (8 light years). Just eight years after establishing their first colony in Sirius, anyone on Sol listening to broadcasted radio or TV signals from deep space would know something is going on in Sirius.

I think this would be the perfect lead-in for an expansion pack though--- The Coalition picks up said signals from Sirius and knows where the Alliance sleeper ships went to and plans an invasion.

Definitely should have picked some star cluster further away...

because time is relative.

Alright I am kind of confused here. Sol means our solar system. Which entails our sun and the 9 planets. In freelancer we live in the sirious sector, which is a whole boat load of stars, when in actuality sirious is just one star. So I guess I am asking is Sol a larger area and if so what are the other stars. Or is Sirious in this game just a mini galaxy. I know its way to small to be a galaxy because the actual sizes of galaxies can reach into the billions of stars.

Any who it doesnt make much sense. So if I am missin something here feel free to explain more to me. Because as I see it we are only talking about two stars here. In our galaxy the Milky Way.. Thanks.
