th rate off fire is a specific blasts a second

firerate 0.50 is 1 blasts per 2 seconds
firerate 1.00 is 1 blast a second
firerate 2.00 is 2 blasts a second
firerate 3.03 is mostly 3 blasts a second
firerate 4.00 is 4 blasts a second
firerate 5.88 is 5 and sometimes 6 blasts a second
firerate 8.33 is mostly 8 blasts and sometimes 9 blasts a second.

Yes I have, Blaster does Hull:635
Shield:317
Cannon does Hull:847
Shield:423

So now that you have a freakin idea, what is better???

If my mem serves me well (and it doesn't always ) the Cannon fires at 3.03 s/sec the Blaster fires at 4.00 s/sec
That means the Canon does 3.03 x 847 = 2566.41 hull dmg/sec and 3.03 x 423 = 1281.69 shield dmg/sec
The blaster does 4.00 x 635 = 2540 hull dmg/sec and 4.00 x 317 = 1286 shield dmg/sec

Wich means that the Canon does a bit more hull damage and the blaster does a bit more shield damage.

The choice is yours: slow firing hull slammers or fast firing shieldkillers
Though the differences are not so huge.
