Why is the Anubis so cheap?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Digital Anvil wanted to ensure that everyone was using the same ship at the end of the game. In short, it was a way to make the game difficult but remove the ship variable

You dont need to use the Anubis I got by fine in a maxed out Dromedary...

The Anubis rocks... but for a Very Heavy Fighter it's max gun is bad Level 6 only ><! and what looks like two extra hardpoints...

There is no Silicon Heaven[[[! But where do all the calculators go ?

You could no more evade my wrath... than you could your own shadow[[[!

Actually, I am becoming quite fond of it. Six lasers and a forward turret. You don't seem to get that on a lot of other heavy fighters. It makes short work of most stuff I've come up against.

the crusader also has 6 farward firing hardpoints (max level five) no turrets and looks as ugly as hell.

I can't even get an anubis yet, so where do you get it?

Doesn't it look like a modified Defender to you?

You get the Anubis during a story mission.

What do you mean lvl 17 to lvl 23, icew? I got from 17 to 38 [max level at the end of the story!
Wait...Maybe it was a bug...? Noooooo, can't be! Can it?

Catscratch, It is a modified defender because Orillion "borrowed" a Liberty prototype battleship. I guess there were some spare parts or fighters on the ship when Orillion "borrowed" it. I guess they took the Defender chasis, (due to that sunburst thing on the side) and modified the power array, added a tail fin, and straightened out the wings. Also, the cockpit view of the Defender is the same as the Anubis.

Knock, knock
Who’s there?
A talking pig.
Pigs can’t talk.
Neither can penguins, but I can’t shut him up[! Wait till you get a load of the dancing candelabra…

If you check out the description for the Anubis it say that it was "Built from the ground up by Orillion's Corps of Engineers", so I doubt it was a converted Defender. Having said that, it does bear a striking resemblance to Juni's converted "three wing" Defender.

I love the anubis...I used it for quite a while after SP was over.

One thing I was wondering about, though...Is it just me, or do the SP nomads seem easier to kill than the ones you find around the jump holes after the campaign? Could the Order shields have a special resistance to nomad guns that other shields don't, since the Nomads are their primary enemy? Or am I just imagining things?

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

The Anubis rocks! Especially if the extra hardpoints are activated. You get:

7 guns
1 turret
3 torpedo &/or disruptors

AFX

Yeah I used that ship right up till I got a Titan.... wich I then traded for a Sabre.

forget the hull breach, what about the FIRE?[!?[!?

That insurance thing sounds like a quick way to lose money...with the cost of cargo and the rate people tend to die at...it sounds like you're asking for bankrupcy =P

No no no, you've got it all wrong. You don't charge them an insurance fee to protect their ships in transit. You and Nunzio charge them an "Insurance" fee to "protect" their ships in transit. Lots of bad things can happen in transit. Pirates can just pop out of nowhere and blow them into atoms. So.. If they know what's best for them, they'll pay. They don't want anything.... "Bad" to happen to their cargo, now do they?

:p

Well I like the Anubis. I prefer a more agile ship, but seven guns is a big advantage. I'm currently trying to search for a new ship. I haven't found the Omicron system but I'm still searching. I toyed with the idea of buying a banshee light fighter but I can't seem to give up all those guns, especially when I haven't found any better lasers than the ones I have already got.

Can anyone please tell me whereabouts I should be sniffing?

Go get an eagle. More manuverable than the Titan and Sabre, but it still has a good deal of firepower and armor.
