The French and Italian fleets were destroyed by the Coalition at the beginning of Starlancer. Only a few ships/squads managed to get away, and they were incorperated into the other nations fleets. So no French or Italian sleeper ships, they simply ceased to exist in the Alliance.
Now... why would latin American nations be bunched together with the Spanish Hispania sleeper ship? By that logic, you could merge Liberty and Bretonia. Heck, you might be able to merge Rheinland and Bretonia, damn Saxons...
The Coalition from Starlancer, as near I can make out, consisted of Russia, China, many middle-eastern nations, and I think a large amount of Africa too. The Alliance consisted of Britain, America, Italy (died), France (died), Japan, and Spain. You could probably throw in the other more western nations too. Canada, Australia being the major ones. Maybe India.
The 5 main houses in Freelancer exist because before Starlancer, they already had feck off huge fleets. When Starlancer started, the Coalition practically instantly took control of Earth and the inner planets, up to Jupiter I believe. S0 no chance of another nation getting away, the Coalition just annexed them.
Microsoft scrapped the initial (and I think much cooler) storyline, where Sol gets destroyed. Why? Well if Earths gone, you cant have an expansion pack where you return to Earth. You lose an intrigueing story, and so make it harder for yourself to make sales. Pain in the...
COalition (as far as anyone knows) has no reason to flee Sol. They own the entire system. Emmense resources are at their command. I think they would be pretty happy to just sit back and enjoy their conquests.
So assuming the Alliance DID launch more than 5 national sleeper ships, and assuming no nation launched more than 1 ship each, I would guess at Canada, Australia, India, some Scandinavian culture, or maybe even Greek.
Anyway, just my 50 pence.
