Actually there may be some truth to that statement --

GameSpy did an interview with the head music guy for Freelancer and he made mention of there being 8 sleeper ships - but they didn't release the info during the sales pitch (I can't remember why) - go look for the report on Gamespy - ur looking for some kind of interview with the guy from Freelancer who did Music for the game.

Yea, the nina, pinta, and santa maria. They didn't find out till they were already launched that wooden ships don't function well in a vacuum, hehe. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Hmmmm, interesting theory, space wood, now before you all go crazy talking about coed shuttle crews and the theory of space wood, I would remind you that we are talking about ship planks, so stop thinking like that, no, really, stop it!

Anyway, guess they would need solar sails, and some way to seal the wood to prevent O2 leakage. Either way, don't think you would find me on that ships sailing list for sea/space trials.

Nothing. The wood got burned during entry to atmosphere from inner.

I suspect you mean re-entry... Anyways. IF they build ships outta wood, I'm sure they can build heat-shields outta the same material

I once read a sci-fi comic many many years ago, where there was a vampire aboard a spaceship and they couldn't do anything about it, because there wasn't a single piece of wood on the spaceship (to make a stake). Ultimately they found someone who had a wooden cane. So maybe there's a whole new side to Freelancer RPG that they won't get into until the sequel, so they covered up the whole story about the three additional wooden ships... ya think??

That comic must've been written before Ripley took to space though, because she would'a just vented his ass.

The wreck is in omicron alpha in sector 6D. By planet Malta.

What exactly happened?
OK. According to bar talk here is the full story:
There were 8 (yes sleeper ships that launched, the coalition blew up 3, and the other 5 weren't damaged and made there way to Solaris. The Hispania had a coalition sabature on-board and before it arrived was damaged, the crew woke up and argued on what to do. half left in the shuttles (the Corsairs) and half rode it till it ended up neer planet malta and took the remaning shuttles down to the planet (the Outcasts).

There are more in other forums thats where i got them, and yes there WAS 8 sleeper ships.
