This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I am personally worried about the performances I might get with this game.
I have everything above the system requirement except my CPU:
Intel PIII 600Mhz
Ati Radeon 64 DDR
512 Megs ram
Sb live 5.1
Windows Xp
I don't plan on playing the game with everything maxed out, if I could play the game in 1024X768 with medium to low settings... I'd be happy... but if anyone has a similar setup and wants to share their settings and performances, I'd appreceate a lot.

Compared to how well the game looks, it is very conservative on the PC Requirements. MP really requires a good pipe to the Net, but if you consider that a 32MB TNT2 graphics card (a card close to 4 years old!) and a PC with a 450 MHz P3 CPU ran this game well enough, most of you guys should be homefree.
Basicly: if you bought a new PC in the last 3 years, I can't see any issue. If it is 4 years old, if it was a top computer back then, you are OK. If it is 5 years old, you should upgrade. This is only a "rule of thumb", and you all read the FAQ on this issue, right?

I don't think that anyone will have to worry a great deal about their rigs being able to handle Freelancer.
If I remember correctly the minimum specs posted were quite low.
I can still get a decent framerate in Unreal 2 and C&C Generals (which is a real system killer: it's minimun is p3 1000Mhz), granted with lower detail.
My rig:
win XP
Athlon 550
256 pc100 ram
radeon 7200
Being that FL takes place in space, it has very little geometry to render up compared to something like the latest FPS games.
In short, I'm not worried at all and if your system beats mine (and who's doesn't?), you needn't worry either.

@ guibs, the performaces on that system (and on a crappier system) where pretty good, playing at 800x600 at highest detail, only resulted in a few hickups but nothin serious
Looking at your system specs you should have no probs at all, your 612 megs of ram and your 64 meg vid card should pull you thouhg nicely, you'll be able to run at 1280x1024 with max detail
