A fob is a nice little electronic Key that takes a reader to open a door with. Have the at work.

In the olden days, ff, a fob was attached to a watch or to keys, usually. It was a decorative device that also provided a kind of "handle" to grab pull out your watch or keys. Picture a pocket watch with an ornamental piece attached to it with a short chain. It was once meant to hang out of your waistcoat pocket. It could be a medal, a piece of embossed leather, embroidered silk, anything, really. I had a small swiss army knife on my key chain. Being on my key chain and not being a key, it was a fob.

Although I know History is unchangable, and the future is unwritten, id go to see a few things, id probably have the tent Next to Grom on Woodstock '69, relive a few things in ancient Japan (for instance the Battle of Sekigahara, or Toba Fushimi, see what I can learn from the swordsmiths, see what it was like during the Bakumatsu no Douran etc. etc.) and if possible... stick my foot out as Gavrillo Princip is running up to the car of Franz Ferdinand, Archduke of Austro Hungary, which would probably prevent WW I from happening

Speaking of WW I, I don't know if any of you still do, but ill keep a two minutes peace at 11.00 AM coming thursday the 11th of november..

Other then that, id go frolicing about and see whatever mayhem I can cause, and probably get my Family instated to the Throne of Holland..

High aspirations for our dearest Loc

On the 9/11 thing. Regardless if you go back to that day and manage to stop the terrorists, they are intent on causing harm. You would have to go way back before 9/11 to actually prevent that day happening.

Butterfly effect anyone?

hey, maybe you can sink the french ships from bailing out the US and the war of independence would have fallen on its ass....ooooh!

Hmmmmm without getting on the political, I think youd have to prevent at least Pearl arbor from happening, because that changed the American policy of isolationism for good. Also, previous time travelling threads have learned me that History is nigh unchangable, those things were meant to happen, look at the 1929 stock crash for instance, if you could be able to do anything, youd have to change the entire economical situation for people, get millions upon millions of people out of extreme poverty, and get them into acceptable regions as regards to money, my friends, not even Bill Gates has enough money to do that, and I don't think anyone ever will. so it can't be changed (at least I think this is a weak excuse for the theory I have)
By the laws of Nature, if something happened on the path that would become history, it would stay that way, even if you were able to displace yourself to where-ever in history, and try to do anything, the Law of nature would prevent you from doing that.

Edit: @ff your plan to keep france in British hands might work, but remember the french revolution?? the french revolution then wouldn't be about giving a kick up the royal backsides, but rather to get loose from england, and seeing the french revolution was a booming success, I think France would still be there today where it is now.

At least they won something, If you could call it that. A civil war is more like it, much like the American Revolution...

Hrm... I'd probably go back to the times of the Third reich and alter the course of Kursk and Normandy j/k, BTW
Alternatively, I'd try to collect as many valuable artefacts from earlier times and arrange a huge auction
No serious ideas. It'd take me considerable time to decide where (and when) I want to go, and what to do there or whether to do anything at all.

Hey, ff--The french are better than snot-nosed Britons. VIVE LA RESISTANCE!

I'm sure I'd travel back in time to see the building of the pyramids in the Egyptain Old Kingdom (2250 BCE), an Assyrian seige or two (1500 BCE), definitely ancient China at about 200 CE. And India at 550 BCE.

Geez, stop it guys! If I had a chance, I'd go back in time and prevent the murder of Ferdinand (?) to prevent WWI and, consequently, WWII. You know why? JUST TO MAKE YOU STOP ARGUING ABOUT IT!
