Yes folks. We have here the first documentated case of forum post hallucination. It is exceedingly rare and I thought I would not see a case of it in my lifetime.

Hmmmm. I wonder if it has anything to do with dirty keyboards and mice.

guys who's name I'll have to go check my spelling of it is terrible

By any chance are you referring to Rachmaninoff?

The other day, I rediscovered Verdi. In particular, Nabucco . There is a chorale piece in this opera that, to me, just takes my breath away and brings tears to my eyes it is so beautiful.

ooo i like Nabucco. I prefer i Lombardi alla prima Crociata, which I saw at la Scala.

(i've been to la Scala, I've been to la Scala, and you-hoo-hoo haven't..)

and Bayreuth - for Parsifal

I thought it was spelt "Rachmaninov" I like him too. much more subtle than Stravinsky or Rimsky-Korsakov or Khatchaturian. Mind you, R-K's "Invisible City of Kitezh" is wonderful, but hardly ever performed in the West. Very similar to Strav's "Firebird" god I love the Firebird, it's fookin wonderful.

Seen it spelled either way. The "off" was used here quite a bit as a way to distinguish / gentrify Russian origin from other ethnicities that also ended in an ov or ow sound. Although now it seems Nabokov is preferred over Nabokoff.

I say tomayto and you say tomahto.

I only knew of Rachmaninoff when a kid from what Hollywood ripped off of him and thematically incorporated into the movies i.e. "Seven Year Itch" (hubba hubba hubba ).

*ignores all mention of La Scala and Bayreuth*

<Edit>

And I admit never having seen nor heard the Lombards in the First Crusade. I see that there's a lot of work for the chorus. Hmmmmmmm...... I love the operatic chorus work. The warbling of tenors and sopranos often put me to sleep.

it's nice to know there's somewhere you can go for forty winks. at least it's more comfortable (and marginally less embarassing) than your office

I have it on the infallible authority of my wife that I snore. Wherever I grab 40 winks may prove to be an embarrassing experience.
