Pray for us here

Greetings everyone, i thought i would drop a line to the TLR family about a serious situation here in good ole florida.

We are facing a serious storm about to hit on saturday morning, hurricane frances seems to be headed torward my town in orlando. I just hope everyone out there can pray for the saftey of the utility workers and national guard that are going to be here over the next few days.

the storm has sustained winds of over 140 + mph winds and they extend 80 miles from center making the entire central part of the state in the bullseye of this storm. the trpoical force winds extend 180mi from the center.

Since i live in central florida i am assuming that we will have major destruction and power losses just like when charley hit just barely 3 weeks ago.

just keep us in your prayers....

Stay well DS.

I've been following her all week. Her winds are quite fierce and she's much bigger than Charley. Landfall is supposed to be somewhere between Daytona Beach and Port St. Lucie this Saturday but you never know for sure.

I assume you've got water, food and flashlights tucked away somewhere.....

God bless....

Indeed. Hang onto to something solid it looks like a nasty one coming.

Seriously, this storm could be a very bad one. Check back in when you can find the time after everything settles down. We'll be waiting to hear everything is okay and will assume it is until you confirm it.

That sucks, dude. Stay and watch out for your family during this storm. This storm looks like it's gonna be big. Not as big as Charley, but still big. I'm not big on prayers, but I will say one for you and for your family tonight. Good luck and godspeed. We hope to see you back here soon.

I don't know how you guys put up with the weather down there, it seems like there's a hurricane or tornado on the rampage every second week. Anyway good luck, I really hope the thing weakens off before it reaches your area.

There's been a change in the general storm path over the past 5 years or a little more.
It used to be that the storms would travel a more straight east-to-west path with only a few exceptions wandering northward.

Now, they are pointing northerly more and more. Charley was the first to hit the Gulf Coast side of Florida in many many years. Luckily, he was kind of wimpy in overall size although he still ruined quite a number of people's lives.

Frances is a real live monster hurricane. Storm track says she's due to hit and cover almost all of Florida at some point in her progress. And she has a lot of open water to travel so that she can retain her momentum / destructive force.

Needless to say, in my business, we are worried.

Looks like this storms gonna be a big one, they still aren't predicting which part of Flordia its gonna hit. I think thats because they messed up so bad on Charley ther are afraid to do it again.

Anyway heres some pictures I got off some real time satelites,
This one is the infrared and this one is the water vapor

edit: broken linky

Good god. That sucker's big. Oh, man. It looks like Florida's gonna get the brunt of it. Only a few weeks after Charley, too. This is bad. Have they determined what category Francis is yet?

Edit: I just checked it out on here. It's a category-4 monster. As strong as Charley.

Yeah, I wouldn't be suprised if its stronger then that by the time it makes landfall too. It still has alot of warm water to travel over and nothing to stop it.

I just checked the newest forcasts, it does look like its gonna barrel right up the middle of flordia.
