Conspiracy Theories
This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.
@Taw, I'm sure you've heard of bush meat? (No, this isn't a bad political joke:p)
It's a vague term for any meat from animals caught in the bush, this can include monkeys! I suspect it's more likely that people had been eating SIV infected monkeys on occasion for several years. Then in one case someone (or some people) eats a monkey that is infected with the SIV virus that has a mutation that leaves it capable of infecting humans (hence HIV). Victim(s) goes on to infect others and HIV spreads since no one has any idea they've been infected with anything till much later.

Well, the Black Plague, Yellow Fever, Typhoid, Tetanus, Ebola, CJD, Mumps, Measles, German Measles, Chicken Pox, Herpes, Hepatitis B, C, A, Malaria, Hybernation sickness....no wait, thats star wars!!
Anyway - heck - gawd knows how big a list you coudl come up with. The point is, we weren't born with those, and they didn't miracolously appear either. However, some, alot, nearly all have been, can be killers of humans. Not all are viruses for truth, there are bacteria and more - but the point is this:
Taw said where did it come from if not from Government labs? Well, where the heck do the other thousands of viruses, diseases and other things come from?? Remember, we have DNA similarities with ALOT of animals, so a spread from Chimps to Humans IS possbile. Crap happens, and viruses mutate and "evolve". They don't need to have been made by a governemt, nature is FAR better at bumpin us off than we are.
Looking for some form of explanation for what we do not want to believe leads to consipiracy theories. Why people cannot accept the fact that a virus can quite easily kill, as well as be transmitted from other animals/species, is beyond me. Since we can catch things from Sheep, Cats, Monkeys and more, why is it so difficult to accept that its entirely possible, heck - it IS the case here. Just because we first saw it then doesn't mean it started then. We found a name for it, thats all. Penecillin existed before Flemming, it was he who recognised its potential and made it world wide. Doesn't mean Penicillin wasn't around though - same with AIDS/HIV.

As far as AIDS is concerned, I believe that epidemiological emphasis upon chimpanzees as a disease vector for migration of viruses to humans still is based
upon eating them, mainly.
When slaughtering them and preparing them for cooking, there is a lot of blood and it is this type of exposure to chimpanzees which is believed to have been the most currently accepted means of introducing HIV into the human disease environment.

It is just as possible that AIDS was a spontaneous mutation. Well, either that, or it was created by the Catholic church in order to kill all homosexuals, and then spread out of control... and don't say it's not possible! They are run by the Mafia after all.

That's the whole point; if the earth were hollow, then we can believe anything!
no it wouldnt.
The magnetic field is generated by the rotating molten metal at the earth's core-
Hot metal+rotating quickly=magnetic field.
No metal, no magnetic field, unless these 'aliens' have one hell of an electromagnet...
