Yeah the daddy longleg is quite common in Aus too, though the huntsman is the most common household spider. Actually they are so common people have been known to name them when one takes up residence.
They are completely harmless but ugly. I once caught one crawling on my face while I was asleep, so to avoid future nocturnal entanglements I just paint em white with fly spray.

The "Daddy Long-leg" spider is indeed supposed to be the most venomous, but I'd be more worried about "White Tail" and "Red Back" spiders personally. Luckily, I haen't seen a spider in my house for months. I had a chat with them, and they agreed to leave us alone.

A rule with spiders is, remove thier food source, and they will leave. Flys, gnats, millipeades, rolly pollys, and such, if there are none inside, chances are no spiders either. At work, where the bugs come in at, you will find a pile of remains near the spider web.

What if you are the food source. Do need to get rid of you then?

Anyway, i don't have any problems with such stuff like spiders and their friends

ff - Not at all. I haven't seen a spider in months (one or two cockroaches though). We don't use any surface spray either, and I don't kill the spiders, but simply warn them and let them go. That way, they can warn their friends to stay clear .

I hate spiders, because they're always hungry and unstoppable, and I'm frightened by every spider(Iexclude only italians long leg spiders, they're harmless and a good omen) even if there is only one lethal kind of spider in italy, the Mignatta, wich name means B*thc.

I'm Italian, I can't cook pizza, I can't play the mandolino and I'm not related with Mafia.

On my grade 6 camp we went to canberra and one of my friends (who was nuts) found a huntsman in the bath and caught it and it became his pet. Whom he called Igor. The last day the arachnophobic teacher wouldn't let him on the bus back to melb, so our vice principal tried to seperate Igor from tim. Tim found out and we were forced to drag him to the bus (three of us) with him screaming "IGOR!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I'LL GET YOU!!!!!!!!!! I CALL MURDER ON THAT!!!!!!!!! IGOOOOOOOOOR!!!"

I had one outside which i had named after my internet handle, Viator, cos he kept travelling from one side of the backyard to the other. then the dog got him.
