Who would make the best mod?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Thanks Mustang. Quite an honor to be mentioned like that. I'm more in the Taw camp on this. 'Sides my 'puter skills are rather farther behind than the rest of this crew. It would be like putting the sucker in charge of the con-men.

You don't need good computer skills to be a mod Indy, just good judgement. Trust me, the job isn't that technically demanding.

Me? A Mod?!? Thanks for the vote of confidence guys, but I think I'm too opinionated to be a Mod. I put my two cents in pretty much everything, and I think that the Mods around here are far more circumspect, which is probably a good thing .

I've actually been thinking about this for weeks, and personally I agree with Mustang. Final, Indy, or SS would all make great Mods, as would a number of other people around here. I'd suggest Taw, but I know that he wouldn't take the job.

plus Esq, taw would end up changing his name (yet again) to something as menacing as the Tawerator

@Esq, it's funny you should say you are too opinionated now after passing on the opportunity to give your opinion in the thread "I need an opinion." That's irony!

*rings spoon on glass for attention and stands up*

Not that this is a serious selection process or anything but I don't want to leave the wrong impression. I will fully support what the Mods need doing in TLR, I'll help if I can, I'll make suggestions if I think they may be of help, but I do not want to be a Mod for very selfish reasons which I do not care to elaborate at this time.

I am, however, very honored to know that I actually figure as a possibility in the mind(s?) of others here whom I know and respect.

Thank you.

*sits back down and orders a double*

wow, thanks spectre although my attempts to end all the arguing ended in vain, i think i did the best i could have done

Its really cool to read this thread and how much certain people have done for the TLR community. And it is a community, dont deny it anyone. and just like any community, we need some form of law enforcement. the mods on this site would have to be some of the fairest ive seen. (ive had bad experiences with some mod on other foums. im not going to name names here)
Its strange to see a thread showing a competition which has no real reward, except for maybe being chosen later on when a mod i needed. basically its about how much ass you can kiss. just kidding, just like a police officer, a mod needs certain characteristics:

1: Strong Moral Fibre - Knowing whats wrong and whats right.
2: Indifference - Not giving out special tratment, or going on vendttas.
3: Non-Coruuptable - Not accepting a bribe, even if it is a full version of Half-Life 2.
4: Input to TLR - how much you have given to TLR in whole, not just off-spam, i mean off-topic.

1: Wolfy is a prime candidate for this, with the 'starfyre incident'
2: Finalday is in front here, he gives a fair judgement to all, with Indy trailing second
3: Indy seems to be fairly non-corruptable, cos just give esky some ginger beer and you have his approval.
4: Accushot is high on this list, his numerous tutorials helping me learn about how to mod fl.

so... my final vote would be for...

Either Finalday, or Accushot.
(sorry others, but my vote is final.)

(PS: you boys were thinkingid be biased and vote for the aussie. )

well i'm defenitely disqaulified
But I dont think being a mod is fun,you have to make decisions that make ppl angry and do stuff u dont wanna do...

Post Sat May 08, 2004 11:13 pm

@sw - you're right there, but its also a test of your moral fibre

Vi sure, but a prob that can crop up, is that ppl's morals are different, what is wrong for one is not necesarilly wrong for another

Post Sun May 09, 2004 6:56 am

@sw, but in this case, we have a doctrine, Bargib and other moderators to jump in if need be.

<Edit> Incorruptible? Hmmmm. Maybe its because I've already been?
