Dressings, eh? What about a nice balsamic vinegrette with a good quality Spanish olive oil? Good stuff.

bleagh, easy to spoil with too much balsamic vingar. if you are going to use balsam, use the proper Modena stuff and in very sparing quantities.

That's what I keep telling the wife and her friends. They keep thinking that all that needs to be done is to replace wine vinegar with equal portion of balsamic.

But they never listen to me... The looks on their faces when they do just that is rather priceless. They try to think of a way to like the taste (much too sweet) so as not to look unsophisticated.

Stop making assumptions! 'll have you know fella me lad, that I always use the correct amount of balsamic vinegar. So there!

Was up late looking over some recipes, when I wished I had a cup of tea. I know the english like their tea, but I was wondering which is your favorites. I have come to like Earl gray and breakfast tea, even made russian tea, lot of fun.

but as far as unblended teas are concerned, then it's Darjeeling, Assam, and Kenyan.

Darjeeling is good stuff, but so is Earl Grey, Lady Grey, and green teas. Eg. Chai, Gunpowder, etc.

Since I think I will organize this into a recipe book to use at home, anyone got any good vegitarian recipes to add? Main dish, snacks, soups ect.

Any style or a particular style. I know a Japanese recipe for acorn squash stuffed with tofu.

Just add some vegetable California Rolls. Good for the whole family!

@Indy, any style will do. The recipes in this thread will make for some good eating. I will copy it to a text editer and hopefully, get it printed out to use.

how about non-vegetarian Staffrdhsire rolls, i.e. bread roll and butter (not marg) with bacon, cheese, black pudding, runny yegg, tomato, mushrooms and brown sauce, dipped in bacon fat and served up with a big mug of tea. Smashing!

given the choice between A. an Esquilaxian vegetable California roll (the wrong choice) and B. a Tawa.. err Carnevalish bacon sausage egg mushroom and tomato bread roll (the right choice) WHICH one would you choose?
