James Bond

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

no way! where is it??!!

EDIT: I went to the "James Bond Expo" in the Science Museum in London last year (since been replaced with LOTR Expo)....and it was suuuuppperb! They had every single bond gadget there you could think of, everything from the cars through to Oddjobs bowler hat and The Golden Gun...they even had the crocodile that bond used as a submarine. There was even pencil drawings and mock-builds of gadgets they didn't use in the end. They had a mockup of M's office and a piece of replica "Golden Gate Bridge" which had cameras pointing at it and a blue screen behind, so you can recreate the final scene from A View to a Kill. It was just COOL.

I've heard the LOTR one is just as good but they're booked up until March, so I'm gonna wait til then before I pop along.

Die Another Day was ok. I hated the sex scean. It just didn't feel right. Inuendo is so much cooler. But I loved the sword fight at the end. I just wish Ms. Frost didn't die....I liked her

Life: No one gets out alive.

*Casts Protection from Fire*
*Proteceted from Fire both natural and magical*
James Bond sucks! I hate it. Why? Cause it's full of crap and lousy puns alongside with stupid and unbelieveably unrealistic gadgets.
The women... They can be found elsewhere. Even the High-Quality ones, so I don't need to watch them in a 007 movie... Yuck.

Careful what you wish... You just might get it.

hear hear. I like watching them for kicks, but they aren't my favourite movies nor would I recommend anyone seeing them.

What about mythical fire Chet?

Post Fri Jan 16, 2004 3:38 pm

I dunno. I never tried, but I think mythical fire must be either natural or magical, no matter how old.

Chet - Sounds like you've been playing too much D&D. Not that there's anything wrong with that.. .

Griff - Got you!

but they aren't my favourite movies nor would I recommend anyone seeing them.

How ironic! You accused me of being ignorant in warning people off buying X2 based on my personal opinion! Now we're even .

Brosnan is alright, but he has modern CGI to help his on-screen presence, which always helps a film in my view.

Bond's ace. 'kin love Bond, and he's British and totally kicks Johnny Foreigner's @##

ok, in order from the top..

the REAL Bond obviously
Pierce

then way below

David Niven
Dalton
Moore
Lazenby

I met Caroline Munro, the most beautiful Bond girl ever imho (along with Barbara Carrera maybe) at a saddos scif-fi convention i took me daughter to, CM she's well old now, nearly 50 i think but me just drooled and lusted after her still. I've been head over heels in love with Caroline Munro since I was 9 and even got jealous of that old fogey Doug McClure groping her up. Anyway i told her this and that i still thought she was utterly beautiful and a goddess and would she elope with me to a tropical paradise? she just laughed winsomely and said she'd love to but my wife would object and shouldnt i go and save my daughter from the clutches of Craig Charles? well at least i got a kiss on the cheek from her, I've never washed since! and she signed me 99p Asda diary.

she is actually still stunningly beautiful and her assets are fantastic, i mean I couldnt take my eyes off them.

Erm,

Personally - solitaire was the fittest i could think of -she was *pants* phwoaarr!
cannot remember which film, or who she was, just that she was fine.

Chet - don't really watch James bond for its decent plots and storylines etc - they are far fetched stuff - especially nowadays.

BUT

For pure entertainment value, where you just sit back, switch the part of the brain working on 10 dimensional string theory off, and relax.... it often cannot be beaten. Dark humour, action, women.............that is all a film needs aint it - oh, and guns/explosions!

Craig Charles eh Taw? Let's drag this into another Red Dwarf thread

Methinks THAT won't happen.

A quick question - How many and which themes did T. Turner sing? I know it was 2 or 3. I wouldn't say I'm a fan but my mum is and I had to listen to quite a few of her tunes in the car to and from school when I was 6 - 12 so I know most of them

As for most awfull theme tune - die another day. I can't stand it!

I liked Ms. Frost a lot too. I hate Halle Berry, she annoys me to no end, that "Yo mama" comeback was so painful! The reason they put her in the movie is to start making an American Spy spinoff of the Bond series with Halle Berry (which I will not go see). But the producers got it all wrong, the spinoff series should have been Ms. Frost as a double-o agent.

Also, did you hear, the director of the movie wanted to originally add in Sean Connery as 007's dad (double pun of Die Another Day = DAD) except he quickly had to drop that idea when he learned that Bond's parents died in a mountain climbing accident and he had been an orphan. If he had been a Bond fan he would have known that.
