This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Aye, 'tis another thread by me about television/movies. I actually watch only a couple of hours of television a day, but no-one cares, and I should probably get on with the thread. Therefore, which Bond films do you like the most? What about the actors? I think that Sean Connery was the best, and that Roger Moore was REALLY average. Also, which gadgets do you like the most? "Little Nellie" (?) you know, the mini helicopter, was pretty good in my opinion.
No no no, the car that was also a submarine

Time to be contraversial methinks I was always a connery man, but now...
1. Pierce Brosnan...he seems to be getting better with age. But I disagree about goldeneye, it was distinctly average.
2. Sean Connery...feel bad putting him 2nd, but if you rewatch all of the originals you'll see that Brosnan acts the pants off of him - to be fair though I think it was Connery's scripts and poor choreagraphed fight scenes that let him down in the long haul.
3. Timothy Dalton...he had the book's character down to a tee. Unfortunately after Moore's stumbling interpretation, the world just wasn't ready for the truly dark bond. Brosnan's success is down to dalton really...he took all of the darker more human parts of his character and mixed them with connery's style and moore's innuendo.
4. George Lazenby...shame he didn't get a second chance. He tried to do what Dalton did later on and Brosnan finally got right. Good effort. Good movie.
5. Roger Moore...sorry but I think he's pants. I still watch his movies when they're on because they do amuse me somewhat. But even as a kid I didn't think that he was convincingly cool enough to get all of these gorgeous women....it was like a milk tray advert gone wrong. He did have some key scenes over the years, and arguably some of the best gadgets...but he's not bond to me.

Mr Brosnan is my favorite Bond. I'm spoilt. Connery's Bond, while ultra-cool, had the misfortune of having extremely cheesy scenes that make me cringe. All Bonds in general are of course cheesy, but as audience got smarter with time and demanded more, the production got increasingly better - better sfx, better fight coreography, (somewhat) more plausible plots etc.
Favorite Bond soundtrack? mine is from Russia with Love. Sheryl Crow's Tomorrow Never Dies and Turner's GoldenEye are not bad either (I liked the way they deviated from the usually orchestra-rich arrangement)

1. Sean Connery, I think he is, was and will be the 'Bond......james bond'
2. Pierce Brosnan. What can i say, I really really like Pierce. He might almost beat connery, if it wasn't for the fact that conneries were made without the special effects, fight sequences, and more polished 90's scripting. however, connery's scripts, with innuendos abound was very riskè to put it mildly. If it was with todays effects and method of acting - Connery would beat Brosnan, but level them both up, and just cause of times - Brosnan might just nip him to the post. Mind you - Connery had fitter women!
3. Dalton/Moore. I found Moore to rely nearly souly upon Innuendo....and some dry humour. It was good enough to keep me believing. Dalton seems to get a little forgotten by the other 'three' - but he was more than good, he carried it off convincingly enough to be really enjoyable films. heck - those are decent.
4. Lazenby. The Guy was a model, not an actor, and he should have stayed that way. The director had to tell him what to do, and he was as believable as Alice Cooper joining the missionary to get closer to god! (more like practice the position, or pull the nuns )
Overall :
Connery - Spot on perfect.
Brosnan - Darker, spot on
Dalton - Darker, deadpan comic lines/innuendo aint his fortè
Moore - To slimey trying to be sauvè. Little bit wooden at times
Lazenby - Jesus, carve this guy outta the stone so he can actually animate himself.
Overall - personally, if it had started with Brosnan - i don't think that it would have survived 19 films. I think that due to Connery starting this - it has. He was the 'idol' that generations grew up on, Brosnan just won't be remembered that well in 40 years.....
p.s - the orchestra arrangements are brilliant - gives the impression of grandoise, and its good to hear it......you know it means vast sweeping places at times - expanses, lavish areas etc etc...

Oh boy! A James Bond thread!
Yeah, Sean was the "best" good ol reliable bond but I think mr. Brosnan(sp?) is a much smoother charictor. Problem is he looks a little too much like Tom Cruise and so he can't have any Sean Connery style sense of humor.
Gadgets... a favorite?! Gimme a few years to figure that out. The cars are as mentioned a big one but as for a favorite car I also draw a blank.
Movies. How come nobody said Moonraker?! That's the best of the bunch right there, Jaws and all.

Fave Bond...
It is a toss between Connery and Brosnan. They are great. Next is the younger Moore, after he got old looking, it was just not believeable. After that is Dalton.
Best movie is, story wise, "License to Kill". Just because Bond went renegade without any high tech stuff. After that it is, "You Only Live Twice". Then the most recent 4 films after that, starting with "Goldeneye" because Bond came back with all that atcion!!!!
Fave Gagdet...
1. The Lotus/submarine from "The Spy Who Loved Me"
2. The watch from "Moonraker", the one with the dart launcher on the bottom side.
3. TIE------ The BMW from "Tomorrow Never Dies" - it had the impervious body and remote control ////// The Austin Martin from "Die Another Day" - the auto flak cannons and the cloaking device are a must have!
"On this ship you are to refer to me as Idiot, not you Captain. I mean... you know what I mean."
