Starwars......

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

it was the last model they made as far as I remember......three solar wings in a sort of triangle pattern around the cockpit......SHIELDS which always seemed like a big no no for the empire for some reason.....
all around monstrously capable fighter, fast, strong, durable, manuverable, and stylish too!!!!!

if we are talking straight dog-fighting capabilities.....I'll take a Veritech over any starwars fighter anyday.........

Good?....Bad?......I'm the guy with the gun.

well being a SW purist I meant totally with the SW gaming world, and not a "best ship" or Titan livers thread thingy, more of an "I totally rule the SW space sim" thang. Which of course I do. Years of practice. I'm currently training my nipper to fly fro the Empire, unf. he's a long way to go yet.

true conv, he comes running downsatirs, after playing some training ob BoP, delighted, and says "Daddy, I'm a Space Cadet...!"

"..that's so true, son, so true" I snickered in reply..

you shut your f**king mouth tawakalna. i own the X-Wing so much you have to substitute the 'o' for a 'p'. I could seriously kick your grave dodging ass in any ship you picked. Ive been zeroing your kind since the early 90s and dont taint me with that rogue squadron s**te, i cried when they ended the X-Wing range. But i also cried when i played XvT because it was a bag of poo. Unfortunately i only have Xwing and Tie Fighter with me so i couldnt throw down with you imposter but it wouldnt have been an exciting match anyway, you just wouldnt have done very well at all. I seriously DO kick ass in the X-Wing.

DONE!

anytime. I'll put a cushion on the floor to break your fall so you don't hurt yourself when you pass out from battle fatigue

@Esquilax: Count me in! Lets kill Jar-Jar

Ok Orillion, you supply the thermal detonators, I'll supply the ginger beer . By the way, I agree, those Tie Defender are LETHAL!

Fine, back on topic, I would imagine that a starship with engines powerful enough to move an enormous ship such as a Star Destroyer to a speed equal to, or faster than light, would have no problems in acquiring the speed necessary to escape from a plantary body's gravity well. As for the feasibility of landing an SD on a planet, well that's another topic.

Post Tue Jan 13, 2004 2:52 pm

Esquilax the hyperdrive system isnt dependent on velocity, it's not the same engines at all.

Post Tue Jan 13, 2004 3:39 pm

the "star destroyers" at the end of Episode II were early versions and they were a lot smaller, I believe that they were Massive transports, not intergalactic siege bases.

Post Tue Jan 13, 2004 4:30 pm

Taw - I am aware, however the fact that it has engines that large, which have the capability to push a vessel that large into hyperspace, would clearly indicate that they have an enormous power output; thus they should be more than adequate to achieve escape veolcity.

Topher - Now that I think about it, you are probably right. They were supposed to be early models anyway, not true SDs.
