Spirit On Mars

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

i never grumble about kimks pics because theyre usually interesting shots of star formations or stuff like that. Bits of old rock and sand in monochrome that could have been shot in a quarry and possibly might have been aren't in the same league, Ed. Mars just isn't very interesting, unless Spirit finds the Mysteron City in Syrtis Major.

you boring bastard taw, what about building a shipyard in space? whats WRONG with going to other planets. I mean i think the best thing to do is get off this goddamn rock and create a Utopia on some other planet and let America police Earth while were away. Then we'll have a "species re-union" and meet up to compare notes. I personally am petrified that if we dont get off this rock, were all gonna die out. We need to stick some people on a lifeboat to ensure the species lives on. What if a bigger, badder, SARS gets out, or an asteroid wipes us all out, or another world war. We need to get outa here before its too late

I'm not leaving Earth. I'll never leave Stoke-on-Trent I'll have you know. What does some fonky other planet have to offer, that i haven't got right here at home? if you want to s*d off to the Qua-lorx Galaxy, go right ahead, me'sa stayin' right here.

git

Post Mon Jan 05, 2004 1:24 pm

just imagine a planet without fish and chip shops or balti houses? what would I live on? No footie down the Britt on a saturday afternoon, no Evening Sentinel, limited supplies of tea, lemonade, Bovril & Marmite, no BBC? I'd rather stay here and wait for the plague/asteroid/nuclear war thx very much.

However was I to be supplied with a large and very powerful army of mechs, i 'd happily go around trashing other planets. Aliens can't have human rights by definition so anything I did to them couldn't be inhumane, could it? And i could still come home on leave!

Ahhhhh. Git. Finally, a context in which to understand what a "git" may be. How ironic that, of all people, Taw would supply the exmplar for which Arcon would apply the descriptive term.

Hmmmm. Taw-git. Oh I see .... Tawakalna is the tawgit of Arcon's scorn.

for years I thought my name actually was "miserable git" then people started putting the "old" in and i figured it out.

why don't we just send people? well that's an easy one.......

There's a huge electromagnetic field surrounding the earth...protects us from extreme rediation....you know the burn you alive in nano-seconds kind.....it prevents living organisms from escaping earth without major amounts of radiation shielding.

so why don't we send people? because they wouldn't get there.....they wouldn't get half way.....they wouldn't even get to the moon....that's right I said it....we never even landed on the moon...Mars? are you insane?

Good?....Bad?......I'm the guy with the gun.

are you referring to the lunar-landing set in Diamonds are Forever? or Blofeld's satellite thingy?

"so Mr Bond, we meet again - for the last time.." god i luv Bond. Do you know, i once saw Bond in a film where he's captain of a Russian submarine, and he has a beard as a disguise. Well, i knew it was him...

Post Mon Jan 05, 2004 5:59 pm

I remember that bond film. Turns out Alec Baldwin is the baddie or something. BTW, if you love that bond film, check out this trailer.

"Kapitans mayul!" or is it "Kapitan smayul" Don't know Russian. If he is not my favorite living male actor today, I don't know who it would be. And only HE could be Bond. The rest just pale in comparison.

Arch, that linky's just superb! i was p*ssing me sides for about 20mins (I just lurrrrv playing submarines!)

on the subject of strange Bond films, i saw Bond in one where he had his face in Catherine Zeta-Jones' @ss, not that there's anything wrong with that per se, and then another where he wore a kilt and took over some weather control machine and the baddies were Rafe Fiennes and Uma Thurman? wtf was that all about?

true story - i let my boy, who's 9 and loves Bond, watch the 4th Protocol the other night, and he was totally confused, cos its a spy thriller with Perce Brosnan in and he's cheering everytime PB kills someone then at the end he says "but Bond got shot - whats going on? how will he be in the next film?"

btw and to get back on-topic, I'd start being interested if one of these turned up on Mars..

now they were scary!
