Spirit On Mars

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

it does make me wonder that as the world's biggest debtor nation by far, where exactly the US is going to find the money for these grandiose schemes? borrow more money? could someone enlighten me? seriously I'm not taking the p*ss, i'd really like to know. i think it's totally irresponsible myself, spending all that money for no good reason (that i can see)

according to the US Treasury website that I just poked a look at, the US National Debt is US$6,998,349,889,106 and 29cents* as of this moment. That's US$23,885 and 88cents for each citizen of the United States, assuming the population to be just under 293million people. Now bear in mind not all those citizens are taxpayers anyway, in reality the burden is borne by only a proportion of the population (that's you, Ed) sooo i'd really like to know where the money's coming from to fund this extravagant proposal.

I'm not being political, as in slagging off the US Govt or Dubya, but if i were an American taxpayer I'd want to tell him where to go and stick his Mars dream and to cut that debt down. i thought Republicans were supposed to be tax-cutters and reduce public spending? Obviously i'm mistaken, or there's an income stream i don't know about. Or like I say, it's just going to be put on the tab, for future administrations to deal with.

Somebody explain this to me please? or is this Mars business, as i suspect, all just talk?

*that's a big number, a LOT of money. How did you people ever get in such a state? Doesn't it bother you?

no no, i called up Dubya and said "listen mr, put me on mars or its your ass"
then this....conincidence?

hmmm? maybe. if so then why dont i just cut out the middle man? that dubya is up to something...i can smell it.

Gentlemen:

Give the fact that we are looking at a Presidential election next year, I suggest that you set your hopes aside and wait and see what happens first.

Our current deficit notwithstanding, it is difficult to see how any pork will be left to spend on the space program were GWB to be reelected.... in as much as he will owe quite a few favors in the process.

Indeed, however, I hesitate to say more as....well..... I could but I shouldn't.

You're right, you shouldn't

i'm sorry i thought i smeled politics upwind. Musta caught sight of a moderator and legged it.

I'm designing 2 space ships now. One is a planet->mothership short range, 2 man vessel (the X-Plane). The second is the Mothership. Built to stay in orbit and fight capital ships
