Spirit On Mars
This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.
I wonder how much truth is in this article. Maybe you should give George W a call Archie and offer your services.
@Taw, yeah, but I wouldn't call Robin & Marion a Bond film despite Sean being in it. I'd call it a Robin Hood film. It was made after his role as Bond.
I wouldn't call Never Say Never Again a Bond film and yet ... oh wait it was. It wasn't made by the normal Bond people nor companies that's all, but Sean did make a return in the role ... as did the story, since it was remake of Thunderball.
Now to bring it back on topic yet again ... when do you think the first Bond film will come out where Bond goes to Mars? I think 2031 ... maybe as far as 2049.

@Arcon, I 'get' it. I just don't 'agree' with it. I was mocking Taw in my previous post. However, it's pointless to argue on personal interpretations of movies ... so I'll again revert to topic ...
Anybody read the Martian Chronicles? Do you think in 100 years the conclusion of that novel may apply to us?

did you see that new Bond film where he leads a bunch of people with superpowers? it's the Bond meets the X-Men or summat like that? anyway it's still Bond, it's full of gadgets and groovy cars and stuff.
Robin and Marion IS a Bond film, Marion is Pussy Galore/Funnyfanny, Prince John is Blofeld/Goldfinger/Drax/Zorin, Sheriif of Notts is Oddjob/Jaws, King Richard is M, Q's in there somewhere, all Bond films are Bond films.
don't foget that well known Bond film where he goes after the Holy Grail for some reason, but Harrison Fords in it so it must have got mixed up with Patriot Games or something, i think the CIA get it in the end. Was Drax in that one too?
oh yeh there's also that Bond film where he pretends to be some professor in America and Felix Lighter is Forest Whitaker? but that's rubbish though.
back on topic -
sS, did we not mention Martian Chronicles in another post recently? ref. Archie's Bradbury quote? Great books, rubbish mini-series. Good twist on War of the Worlds, the Martians lost both times because they succumbed to human diseases!
if it hadn't been for human bacteria turning them into piles of leaves, would they have still lost their planet to the the human settlers?
I can't remember, do the glowy balls that talk to God appear in the mini-series, or were they just in the books? i know the Jesus-Martian appears, that was a really good scene, Rock acted well there.

@taw:
Did you see the Bond film where Bond is in the D-Day Landing, He's in it with John Wayne as Felix Lighter.
Or the Bond film with Christopher Lambert who turned out was an immortal from the highlands.
Or the Bond film where he has to take down the Chicago mobsters with Kevin Cosner, who later reprises his role as Felix Lighter in the sequel where him and Bond have to bring down the Sherif Of Nottingham.
"Something wicked this way comes"
yeah, thats the bond film i was talking about.

Saw the title... "Spirit on Mars" ...and my first thought was somthing along the lines of "ok, there was a big hubbub about a face on mars, now a spirit?
Shame so many mars probes fail. My great uncle (who believes our entire family except him were ubducted by aliens about 50 some odd years ago btw) mentioned that one saw a strange image before going dead, that image being of a 20km cigar-like object. Anybody heard of this before?
edited for coherency. Perhaps I'll add that "damn spelling" to my sig as well?

nope, not a chance. too much money. i know Dubya has said today that the Us will put a man on Mars in ten years and there'll be a manned moonbase (well SHADO are there already of course ) but i doubt successive administrations will keep up the impetus, we've heard all this before. Ok probably someone will be sent to Mars (Arcon) but that will be it after that. No Mars colony this century, thats my prediction.
