Political Correctness and You

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

@taw...

no weird herbal teas and nothing foreign

you're english man, they're all foreign

sod this pc ****....I originally studied electronics at uni, if they changed "male" and "female" connections because "its just not pc" then they would have to rewrite every electronics book from the last 50 years. As for the master/slave thing, thats just pathetic. They can kiss my hairy politically incorrect arse.

just a little submission

the PC word for stealing is, Borrowing for indefinate times

@Taw, nice rant me chum! Although I have to ask toward the Br*t*shness of it. There are people in your country that take issue with drinking Tea? Over here they have issue with drinking coffee and propose Tea as the alternate. I prefer Tea myself, English Breakfast or Irish Breakfast where I can get it, but I'm curious what they are saying over there about Tea.

My fave subject is no longer History, it is now his 'n' herstory or hystery.

People arn't fat, there horizontally challenged.

Hurricanes no longer ravage poor towns and trailer parks, Himmicanes do.

Now adays people are in an orderly transition between career changes and not unimployed.

This soup isn't the worst, it's the least best.

Grandperents are not elders, they are the longer-living.

Most people are TLR (I think) are members of the mutant albino genetic-ressive global minority. In other words, white.

I'm not evil, I'm morally different.

Charles Manson wasn't a serial killer, he wasa person with difficult-to-meet needs.

I didn't realise you were into that sort of stuff matee?!

what started off as a worthy aim of protecting minorities and subordinates from insults and abuse has turned into a form of abuse and tyranny in itself
This brings up a good point. PC does have a limit to wich it is usefull. However, this is commonly known as "courtesy" so perhaps PCness is useless after all

the one thing i find really annoying about political correctness is
if you hold a door for a woman many now growl at you (non pc) but if you dont people comment how rude you were
This is yet another example of how unfair the world is. Woman can wear men's cloths and nobody cares, but you try going out in a dress! I've seen a good many e-mails on this topic that were quite amusing and if I should see one I'll put it in da sticky

I know what you mean. I got a really nice coat. Black on the outside, fake red satin linning.

When my mom saw it, she informed me that it was a ladies coat and she was worried about how others would react to see me ware it. Just because the buttons are on the oppiosit side.

Women have alot more social options then men do. Men are much more constrained by social laws.

I hear that there are some people asking for "manholes" to be renamed!? What a load of pony!
The thing I can't stand is that PC is trying to stop people from saying the honest straight truth about a subject without feeling guilty because you could be offensive. You've got to worry in case a hypothetical person is standing nearby listening in. This hypothetical person being a black muslim immigrant transexual octagenarian lesbian single mum with one leg, a speech impediment and a mental disorder. Well I'm sorry but you can't please everyone!

Ya, instead of Manhole, it would be a maintenance hatch, femhole, personhole, personnel access structure, or utility hole.

Some feminists wanted to change the Canadian antham. One part has, "In all our sons command" That of course is sexist and non-pc.

But no one listend to them, aside from making fun of them.

But no one listend to them, aside from making fun of them.
There IS justice in the world!

Here the buggers wanted to remove "In god we trust" from money and "one nation under god" from the pledge of aliegence.

DON'T THESE PEOPLE HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO!!!! *becomes bothered again*

go plant a tree... or somthing...........

Post Tue Dec 09, 2003 7:05 pm

Just remember, if there wern't idiots in this world, we'd have no one to make fun of.

I hate feminists.

nuff said?

seriously though someone should point out that in the dictionary under "man" it reads...(after "an adult male human)...

A human regardless of sex or age; a person

Everytime I hear some bint mouthing off about how we should change "man-this" or "man-that", I just want to scream at them "DDDDEEEERRRR!!". I resent the fact that my tax money is paying for the next generation of this scum. (hmm...how old do I sound??) i'm sorry if you think that "scum" is too harsh a word...but scum they are. If a man ranted on about women being overpowering and should go back to their kitchens where they belong, they would be classed as "sexist scum". Therefore in the name of equality, if a woman screeches on about how "all men are bastards" and "they should be castrated at birth because we can now do it with a test tube" then they too should be classed as "sexist scum" don't ya think?

Sorry left the topic for a sec there....

If "man" should be removed from every characteristic that doesn't necessarily mean "male", then someone needs to rewrite the dictionary. Otherwise, these people need to be told to get an education and get out of our faces, its pathetic.

Of course this is only my humble opinion as a horizontally challenged, follically challenged, heterosexual male of the species.

Post Tue Dec 09, 2003 7:09 pm

@ warlord these people are unlikely to plant a tree as many trees have a sex and they might plant more male trees than female trees by mistake
ok you say they can cut some down but think how much suffering it would cause in the intervening time
far better to tarmac an area than risk that
i could come up with an alternate suggestion for these "people" to plant involving thier heads and a bucket of manure

Zlo isn't drunk, he's chemically inconvenienced.

I love that!
Darn, glad we have genders in our language, although we still had some debates, mostly focused on the fact that by the family name you can tell if a woman is married or not. However, the decision, understandably, was that nothing should change: if a woman wants to conceal her marital status, then you could question the motives
I am renowned for being a "male chauvinist pig", and I love myself. BTW, when you think of it, "female" still has "male" in its basis (wonder if it means "feeble male" or sth.? ). How are they planning to change that?
A good argument to cool all those PCs down is to say that extreme reactions are frequently an expression of an inferiority complex. Always works - a bout of aggression followed by hasty withdrawal.

Just remember...if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off.

I dispise feminists as well.

And when ever I can, and when I remember to do it, I call women on being sexist.

Like the other day, my mom commented on the fact that our vacume cord dosn't have a stoped on it so when recoilded, the plug would hit the vacume and damage the plug. She said it was oviouisly designed by a man. I told her that was a sexist comment.

My teacher said the the consenets were the boys in a classroom and the vowels were the girls in the classroom. Because the vowels are the letters that do the work in the word.

I told her that was a sexist statment.

Of course, but are likely to be true, but that dosn't deminish the fact that they were presuming that men don't know how to work a vacume or do anywork in the classroom.

If a woman sais that men don't know how to do anything in the kitchen. People take that as truth. If a man sais to his wife, she has to cook because men don't know how to do anything in the kitchen, it is considered sexist and demeaning.

I grew up in a house that taught me that women are above men in all forms. So, I switch between almost worshiping women and hateing them with a jelious passion.
