the planet looks kinda cartoony, i'd imagine a spaceship from macross plus in there or something

Here is my attempt!

It's really only half-finished though. I couldn't get the atmosphere to work right (it was too weak) and the embossing didn't work too well. I was supposed to make a shadows layer, but I couldn't get my duplicate layer to be as bright as his. Not too bad for a very green newb at PS7 if I say so myself

True, but it is my own work, even if I just did exactly what the tutorial told me to I'm gonna' mess around and see what I can do later tonight. This is kind of fun

I did some stuffing around with the tutorial the other night. However I've only got photoshop 6 so I had to improvise with a lot of it and this is the best result I had. It's just the planet, I might stuff around with trying to do a starfield later on today.
