Frontierspace v1.74

Here you can announce your own Freelancer MOD and find information about the different available packages!

Post Sun Mar 11, 2007 4:21 am

No problem, glad you have got it sorted

Post Sun Mar 11, 2007 5:54 am

Mace the "bh_tetra2_package" comes with a LF shield when it should be an HF shield, I spotted it just in time or I'd have been kicked from Sarges server.

The hunt for the missing shipdealers

Ross 128 --> Jersey Outpost
Dublin --> Graves
Edinburgh --> Islay

I'll keep an eye out for any more.

Hey Bejaymac, its typical, i've just uploaded the first patch to BP and now you find something that needs to be fixed..
Cheers though, i'll add it to the next patch along with the damn shipdealers..

Your mod is not working. It sends the following message: "Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application".

Post Sun Mar 11, 2007 7:22 am

Hey fwolf, are you using the normal FL cd version or the ubisoft one?
If it is linked to the ID that is in freelancer.ini you could copy your entry from the deactivated exe folder instead.

Post Sun Mar 11, 2007 7:35 am

Its one without cd protection.

Post Sun Mar 11, 2007 9:23 am

Well, i'm not sure if i can help you with that one. If anyone else can help with it then please post on this thread (or mail fwolf direct).
Does this only happen with Frontierspace or does it hapen with other mods too?

Post Sun Mar 11, 2007 9:35 am

Ok, so the my mod.dll has nothing to do with it, but just deleting the .exe and the flserver files give the error message i posted before

Error: problem activating 'Frontierspace Client V1.74'
Error: SHCopyFile failed ('C:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Frontier space_v174\exe\Freelancer.exe' to 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\exe\Freelancer.exe')

Leaving them in allows the mod to activate in flmm, but then i get the same message as fwolf when trying to start the game.

What has changed in this area since v1.0/1.1 ? As the earlier version works without any probs

Post Sun Mar 11, 2007 9:40 am

The only other mod i can think of that this would happen with was TNG, but iirc there was a nocd crack available to download to counter it. I've not had this problem with any other mods

Post Sun Mar 11, 2007 9:56 am

It's a common problem Mace, especially among the modders who use the original freelancer.exe in thier mods.

When the budget versions arrived in Europe the TNG people had a lot of complaints about the "insert CD-Rom" issue.

The only way around it is to replace your .exe with either the illegal hacked noCD exe (FD's favourite ), or get someone with the Ubisoft or Explosiv versions to send you thier legal noCd exe.

Try deleting the freelancer.exe and flserver.exe from the un activated mod folder and restart FLMM. Then see if you can activate it.

I think FLMM is making a list of the files in the mod folder then looking for the ones you have deleted.

Or, you could try copying the origninal game's exe's to a temp folder and copy them over the top of the FS ones when activated.

Head over to MACE's site forum and you'll find a thread by me with a LINK to a download that will fix the "Insert CD-Rom" problem.

I'm not posting the actual download link here as the noCD is frowned upon here at TLR, despite half of the mods in the downloads using it

Hello,

Just tried the mod (SP) for a few hours. Worked fine... until i got to Manchester. Everytime i dock to the tradelane the game crashes without warning. Bug in the system def ?

Post Sun Mar 11, 2007 2:58 pm

@No future, that dosen't sound too good. Which tradelane is it?
Its normally a patrol that causes a crash when you enter the tradelane leading to the area it is in.
I'll playtest and see what i can find. Hopefully it'll get sorted and be added to the patch list.

Post Sun Mar 11, 2007 3:27 pm

I have tested again and you may be on the right track. If I wait a bit before docking (so the patrol moves away) i can go. It is odd that i never encountered that bug until that system. It was the tradelane between the Cortez jumpgate and Birmigham station by the way.
