Well that might explain it. I downloaded Monkey Universe 1.84 Mod by Black Eagle submitted by Gestoord. Apparently he added a shippack... Also I modified the files so Trent is wearing a br_male_elite_body. And I swithched it araund so I was flying the "Sith Infiltrator" equipped with 6 "Luger A" that I got when I picked up Prof. Quintain... erm... I think thats it. The problem seems to be compounded by the Osiris. It SHOULD warp out of the system, correct? Well out of frustration I went to the jumphole and guess what? I found the Osiris still there by the jumphole except it was labeled "Unknown Object" and you can still dock with it like any other base! You can even buy the Order Ships AND Equipment AND Comodities! I also noticed 1 or 2 Nomad Jumpgates that ive never seen before there. Messed up huh. @_@

Okay, this explains it!

It's ok, if you want to try modding and change some things like the outward appearance of Trent or so, but then you cannot expect my mod to work correctly.

If you want to get rid of this bug, you have to just play my mod as it is and then it will work. If however you have any suggestions, how to improve the mod, you are welcome to post them here. I will answer, if I like them and then maybe add them to the next version of the mod.

Well the Star Wars ships are nice. You should try to keep a few.

I cursed you cause' now Im semi-permanently attached to the internet. Im 15 and don't have much free time.
The free time I do have seems rather spent with playing FL, HW2 etc.

first .. Great Mod .. but i have an Problem to finish the last Mission .. -.-

I'm in Omicron Minor ..at the Jumpgate to the Nomads Homeworld! And now i'm standing there and notzing is going on! It came a message: "Take out the Nomad Ships" But they are no Nomad Ships are coming! The only Nomads i see .. are the Nomads with Valkyrie NR1! When i shoot this Nomads .. came a Message! "Mission failed"!!!
i can dock nowhere! Not on the Jumpgate to Nomads Homeworld .. also at the Orisis or Toledo .. or on the Jumpgate to Nomadia.

I have the Anubis with the correct weapons!

Why can't i terminate the Mission?

all other mission functioned perfectly!!

Hi Ulinbore!

At first thanks for playing the mod and it is great to hear that you like it.

Now for your problem:
I never had this problem and I do not know anyone else who had problems in this mission.

To solve the problem you may want to try the following things:

Load an old savegame one or two missions before and do the missions again. Maybe the mission then also works.

If this does not help, I have some questions:

Do you have any other mods active?
Did you use old savegames from original FL or other mods?
Did you just install FL and activated the mod afterwords?
Did you edit your character or savegame to give you more money, equipment, a ship, or something similar?

If the answer to one of these questions is yes, I can only say the following:

My mod is not compatible with ANY other mod except of the "OpenSP for the Monkeys" mod released by myself some months before.
Old savegames from the original non-modded game or from other mods will not work with my mod, you have to start newly.
Please, before activating the mod, install the SDK, which you can download here at TLR.

And one more thing. Do you have the original Anubis, or the Anubis MK2?

If you cannot solve the problem and also could answer no to all the three questions, please post again and I will try to find a solution.

No, only Monkey Universe Mod is active!

No, i only use the Savegames from Monkey Universe

Answer to the question :3
No, more Freelancer runs since a few Mounths

Answer to the question :4
No! I have to get only a few wrecks (The wrecks also in the original FL are) emptied around money! ;-)


I fly the original Anubis .. one can buy the Anubis MK2 only starting from level 30 or so ..

I have done this ...started before it goes to Alaska .. from Chugoku (fly to New Berlin and so on start to attack Tegakis Fortress)) .. From Battleship Osiris (Nomads Power Cell) ... the results are the same .. can't terminate the Mission in Omicron Minor

Now I play old savegame (after the missions) with from the original more Freelancer and it run perfectly with Monkey Universe Mod! 0o+

Edit: mmh with the Savegame from other Freelancer there are no figths in Battleground and everywhere where Nomads and Order, Monkeys and Robots are, maybe with this Savegame the Mod didn't work correctly

Hi again!

I do not have much time now. I just wanted to let you know that I will try to find the problem as soon as possible.

As all your answers were no, it is at least not caused by a wrongly activated or used mod. So, the problem has to be in the files and I will look through them to find it.

For the old savegame: It might seem to work perfectly with the mod, but the thing you mentioned is really caused by this old savegame. If you play with it, the Monkeys, the Order, the Robots and the Nomads are neutral to everyone (so they will not fight each other). You will not get missions from them and some other things are not working.
So you see that old savegames are not really working with the mod.

I hope to find the problem soon!

I know no one has really much time

I will start the Game from zero .. i have install SDK .. than activate Mod .. so the New Game is running .. maybe now the Game runs perfect .. about the result I will inform you naturally

Which was noticeable me with the current play. with 2 missions.

Mission 12: Extract a Nomads Power Cell from a unknown Structure in this system

I had to fly past with the mission the Nomad Liar and cross 2 systems around to the power Cell to come

Question: Is it so intended?

Mission 13: Land on Battlehip Osiris and than meet Orillion outside the Battleship Osiris (Omicron Minor)
Main Mission: Fly into the Nomad Home System and activate the Hyper Gate system!

The Mission starts in the Wrong Sector (Order Base Unknown Object).I must 32k fly to Orillion it with the Battleship Osiris to meet! Then comes to it. the Missions Waypoint leads to the Planet Toledo and not to the Nomad Jumpgate!

If i fly to the Nomad gate and meet all there .. than came 5 or 6 Nomads and that's all! Juni says something about an Nomad battleship .. but isn't a Nomad Battleship here!
After killing the 5 or 6 Nomads follows a Message:
Take Out the Nomad Ships!
I wait 15 Minutes .. wait 30 Minutes .. no Nomads come


When u want i can send u Screenshots of this Missions!

Okay, then I wish you luck. I will keep looking if I find a problem in the files, but so far I was not able to find any mistake. If you could send me some screenshots to my mail it would be very helpful.

At least your descriptions sound like there wasn't only one problem, but several ones. So this really needs to be fixed and I will also keep you informed about any findings. However it would be great, if you could tell me what happened during your new game you start now. Maybe it works now, maybe not.

But again, thanks for the patience and for posting all the information. This really helps in finding the problem.

For servers running the mod:

There is not really a server, which runs The Monkeys 1.18, but there are two servers to mention.

1. The Void server: The Void mod is based on the Monkeys 1.1 and has many new stuff made by Strail, a very good modder, who asked me, if he could take the Monkeys to make a new mod. So, this is not the original Monkeys Mod, but the new additions are really impressive and most of them really fit into the game. For more info go to www.voidserver.com

2. Monkey Universe: The Monkey Universe Mod is based on the Monkeys 1.18 and has some new stuff, which will be in the next version of the Monkeys (new systems, etc.) and some other stuff not going into the Monkeys (e.g.: Starwars ships). It is still a bit more similar to the original Monkeys than the Void and there is a great RPG community worshipping the Monkey good The server is run by gestoord, who posted about the mod in this thread here sometime ago.

So, if you want to try them out, just visit the sites and have a look. I'm also sometimes on one of these servers (of course my name is Black Eagle or similar).

So, maybe we will see each other and otherwise good luck with the newly started game and have fun!

I do not understand it .. 0_o the results from the New game are the same as before .. crossing 2 systems to get Nomad Power Cell and hanging around in Omicron Minor and waiting for Nomads .. but i know .. they do not come -.-


The 11 hours playtime ^^ I play gladly Freelancer.. only it then not continue to go, annoy me nevertheless somewhat!


I must test probably times another Mod or play it to the end in orginal.
Perhaps is with the my Freelancer which not correct!

Hi again!

I'm very sorry, but until now I could not find any mistake (I'm also playing the story with my mod now, but I'm not yet in the last missions). It could be your FL installation, but it could also be the mod. I have one suggestion.

If you still want to play my mod, you could just download the "OpenSP for the Monkeys" mod, which I released some time ago. It is still in the downloads section of TLR and with this mod you can play my mod with OpenSP (like MP, starting in NY without the story missions).

You can of course also try out some other mods. However it would be good to see you back, when the next version of my mod is released, or when I find the problem and correct it. If so, I will send you a patch for it.

So, keep playing!

Hi

now it works .. i have install and activated OpenSP 1.1 for The Monkeys .. than the Monkey Universe 1.84 Mod .. Fights in Battleground, Nomadia, Minor .. and so on .. but some jumpgates and Bases called Unknown like the Order base (Battleship) in Minor and it stops by lvl 39 ... sure the reason is the OpenSp 1.1!

But that is no matter, to main thing it runs now )

And .. and i love the Ship Mystere )

Now i've seen .. this is a really a great Mod!

I would make a server available for 50 or 100 Players!!!

Hi again!

Glad you like it and of course also that at least the OpenSP version works.

For the bases called Unknown in the story systems: This will be changed in the next version, but I just wanted to open them up now and did not have the time to really make these systems ready for the game. So, in the next version there will be encounters, bases and so on, everything with names and info.

The level restriction is normal for SP. When playing SP the levels are restricted to 40 (sometimes 39) and you cannot level up higher. So, if you want higher levels you need to play MP. There Monkey Universe has levels up to 89.

I will contact you for the server in some days, when I have some more time (quite busy currently). Thanks for the offer for now, I would really like to see a new server with my mod.

If you are going to run another server with the Monkey Universe 1.84 mod, we are able to help you out...

We have currently almost finished all the Ioncrossdata files required for the Monkey Universe 1.84 mod.
We also have some experience now in running this mod in a multiplayer server environment.
We also did some minor changes server side to make the mod more suited for MP ...

There is no need to learn all the hard way as we did...
We are willing to share all info that you require.

We would only want to request humbly not to name your server Monkey Universe because this would be very confusing with all the others who play now on the Monkey Universe server...

I have done some more work on the commodity market ...
I hope to get it finished by the end of next month (have some days of to do so ;-) )...
All runs stable and we had our first crisis (hacker attempted to screw the server), but this was solved very quickly.
The player community loves the mod and the roleplay is starting with some nice events based on the mod (like find the banana / kill the Big bad coconut/ ...)
