Reynen Client / Server Mod 2.0 BETA 5b RELEASE

Unzipped The mod is about 28 MB and I HIGHLY recommend NOT running any other mods with it as it changes over 150 files.

Please see the readme for complete details, this mod is HUGE and completely revampes the Freelancer universe!

Enjoy! This is over a month and a half months worth of work so I hope you all really like it. Please post comments and feedback!

I will be hosting a server with this installed. Look for Reynen's Mod Server. (12.252.29.222) Other servers can be found in the readme file.

There have been some major changes in version 2.0 BETA 5

- Added cargo train
- Corrected TIE infocards
- Changed the starting screens
- Added Edge Stations docking rings
- Added Outer stations docking rings
- Added Kusari stations docking rings
- Added Border stations docking rings
- Added Rheinland stations docking rings
- Kusari gunboat main mount now swivels
- Stealthblades for theTIE's are now buyable
- Fixed map bug that displayed huge dock rings
- Fixed a problem with one of the Rheinland bases
- Changed and updated freighter ships and info cards
- Fixed problem with Defend willard station mission 3
- Fixed problem with Defend benford station mission 4
- Captain walker's ship will not be destroyed so easily
- TIE stealthblades now have starwars sound & graphic FX
- Increased timer for mission 8 from 2 minutes to 20 minutes
- Trent now has new clothes (need to start new game to see them)
- Fixed "Bouncing" with Battleships when cruising toward a target
- GB, CR, & BS thrusters are have now been "fixed" to prevent abuse
- Due to complaints about prices being to cheap...I've raised ships to match the readme.
- Created a temporary fix for GB, CR, & BS cargo and tractor problems (need to find the root of the problem) ( something is taking up 400 cargo slots, so I added 400 to each to compensate )

Update May 11th:

- Due to complains about the race, cruise has been set to 400.
- Added buyable cargo train to planet Houston.
- Collision has been raised from 5 to 10
- Max ammo has been increased to 100

KNOWN BUGS / ISSUES

- If a station is destroyed with a player in it, the server will crash.
- Battleships have real problems in asteroid fields
- If you try and buy gunboats consecutively, game will crash
- Nomad gunboat will not use a thruster
- Stations that sell ships, but do not have ships for sale, the vendor will pop up then close.
- Freelancer will crash if you try and run without the mod and have moded save-games
- When you first buy a gunboat, cruiser, or battleship your entire cargo is available. Once you save and reload your game / or log out and back in for MP, you will lose 400 cargo slots. I have created a temporary fix to this.

Yeah, will play it as soon as come home from work. Really want to try the TIES´s stealthblades and star wars sounds. And the info cards will not say legionnaire any more...waaaa weee! :-)

Thanks Biitch. I was going to upload the files to ya but I got finished with the mod at about 1 am last night and just completely forgot. Sorry about that.

As usuall if there are any major mod stopping bugs I will release an emergency patch. Just let me know if you have any major problems.

ok guys what happened to the soud wav. files i sent bob for the TIE's? lol
i like the new mod but...****AHEM***not a TIE sounding engine to be found...lol
oh rey......i was wondering sincei got the skin packs for the eagle and the anubis and there installed would they be auto filed or do i have to put them where i want too?..PLUS i was thinking.........the Eclispe Destroyer the massive hulk ship mod, is there ANY way you can fit that monster in here?...and how come you guys dont use TIE's for like the BH and the police and what not i think it would be kinda cool to see them in groups ...i dunno call me a SW nut...lol

I never received a sound wave for the TIE engine, why didnt you send it to me?

As for the skins, I don't know how other people's mods will interact with mine. I can test them but it will take some time.

What is this eclipse destroyer you are talking about? I have never heard of it.

As for how come I don't use the TIE for the police is the same reason I don't do alot of stuff. I get email after email telling me I should add this and I should add that. You're going to have to take a number, currently server 5 of 1234.

If I tried to do everything everyone wanted, nothing would get done.

It's only been 1/2 day since release and I've already gotten 15 emails asking why I didn't add this and why didn't I add that....not one of them said thank you either.

lol no i didnt mean it like that rey....i was just wondering...its cool either way i thinnk what your doing is awesome enough as it is........as fars as the TIE wav. i sent them too Bob...but i assume that he A: didnt get them or B:didnt think that the ywere good enough samples.I can imagine the request's you get thats why i have never bothered you about small things that i think would be kinda cool...as the skins go they do work with yourmod being that they are only textures not loadout's BUT for some reason they dont work in flight i dont know why but i contactedthe maker and see if i did something wrong with replacing the files.The Eclispe Destroyer is a SL MOD i seen here in the forums... its flippin HUGE!!!! from what i have seen i just thought "which can get me in trouble" that something like that would be spectaular...nope no beefs here on what your doing just thought i would as k a few ???? for my own needs to know.

Hey, could you make different stations and planets have different weapons for sale? Right now, every station and planet sells the exact same equipment. And now you can't get weapons like the Justice MK I, II, or III and the same with the other original weapons? Can you put the original weapons back in the game, and make the different stations carry different weapons? The the Prometheus, Diamondback, and the other weapons suck b/c they have a very low refire rate. It's like

And the ....um....bullets are very slow so it's hard to hit your target, darn near impossible.

And the first mission with Juni, the reward is 50,000 credits, thats good, but then all missions after that is weak.. can you up the reward for all missions with Juni. If I can get more credits by bar missions and trading, why play SP. But I want to play SP so please fix this.

ok i jsut logged on and notice one thing. waay too much pissing and bitching. if you want Reynens mod made a certain way, dont jsut come in here and bitch to him to DO it, do it yourself. ive noticed a few people actaully trying to help reynen break through a lot of the barriers that he has run into but mostly people jsut pop, occaisionally drop a few token praise phrases, and then start trying to get the mod made THEIR way. If the mod doesnt say your name on it, then its not gonna get done 100% your way. alot of the crap people wnat is the sorta thing that its just too soon to implement. Trust me when i say this, every single thing reynen can do he will do. Just give the man some time to have a little life and enjoy the fruits of his labor and headaches. I for one think the mod already surpasses anyhting that anyone could have thought was possible. I know its easy to get those "Man adding x mod into Reynens mod would just be uber leet." All i ahve to say is right that idea down and post it when the time is right. Rant over.

Spawn if your refering to anything i have said im not "whining" or "bitching" about anything ..if nothing else im tring to help think of idea's as well as for the comments i have made it has nothing to do iwht either or...im a dedicaded player just like you and rey and every other player out here voicing my "opinon" about something is just that and rightfully just in being spoken...everyone has questions....some have answer's...dont give a rat's...wel you know so therefore
rant if you want lol i could care less i do however think that ALL the idea's and effort that has gone into this mod are great....and ya to even think that this was possible and to be done by someone else @ this point is true i dont think any ofthe other mods coveras much as this then agian i have not tried them but one thing i have noticed is that THIS mod is the most downloaded and most covered here on this site and any other i have been too...praise?...ya praise is a good thing no matter what because you know what?....if it was not for him or you or bob and the work that all of you have done this would not be possible....and the game would not be a high on the replay as it is now.

So, i conclude that if you wanna say that im "whining" or WHATEVER then fine say so but thats not why i come here.

Download has been disabled. I was informed of a major bug. I just fixed it and am uploading the updated version now. If you downloaded a version BEFORE 5:45 PM PST May 9th, then you need to redownload it.

Hall:

If you send me the files I will try and implement them. I take a look at all that I get, but I can only implement so much at one time.

Please send me an email with your server information so I can add it to the readme.

Funny you mention that. I has someone get up set because I did NOT have every station exactly the same. It was an inconvience to that person to have to fly to another station to pick something up....

I did it this way to accomodate lazy people. Lazy people usually complain the most.

Also if you tried to use the un-modified weapons in the game you would not be killing anything. Try reading the readme before you speak.

You complain about weapons with low fire rate...did you even TRY the beam weapons?!?! Did you try the Eliminator or the Hellflurry turret. NO YOU DID NOT! Otherwise you would not say that.

Also what do you think I am?? Do you expect me to snap my fingers and have everything fixed?

This is the stuff I am talking about that really pisses me off. People who spout their mouth BEFORE THEY EVEN TRY STUFF OR READ THE README!!!

Ehehehehe....... I couldn't quite get the tie sound into a good looping sound... ehehehe.... working on it...... bahhhhh.....

BTW:

how does this work, I mean we're using copyrighted material with the TIE ships and sounds, but we've never, to my knowledge, gotten permission from Lucas Arts. Not that we need to, neccessarilly.... cause there's a milion SW mods, but I was just wondering, how does it work, with intellectual property rights and all...

Neway, not to spoil the mood, I just think abnout this stuff....

I'm chanhing the BS to be their own faction so there shouldn't be any problems.... I dunno.... I probably accidentally left something in there that made Liberty and Rheinland hate each other... baaahhhh... complicatedness.....

Well since we are not selling anything they shouldn't have a problem, plus I gave credit where it is due and it's not like I am claiming that we are the originators.

THe most they could do is ask my to remove it from the mod and that would not be that difficult, but at the same time would be hurting them as this is techincally free advertising for them.

Rucas Alts are just a bunch of attention whores. All the new changes are great Reynen, well worth the wait.
