Ok, I also had the Battleship problem at Planet Denver, when I launched it gutted my Rheinland BS every time. Instant death.

Aye I think I made the NPC loadout a bit too much. But in a BS remember nothing even needs to aim to hit you Your so huge you actually have to work to miss a shot hehe.

Also with concerns to you taking out NPC Battleships. NPC battleships have 2.5 Mill HP. Weap PLatforms have 1 Mill and large stations have 5 Mill HP.

Thats why I said PVP. You will notice a huge difference when in PVP. As a RH BS you ahve a max of 1.3 Mill hp. Barely half that of NPC BS. I will probably up the stats when I introduce gunboats and cruisers.

Also what weapons are you using? I use the adv beam turrets myself and they work like a charm. I would suggest higher fire rate cannons for BS's.

I know it needs more storyline, am working on it. Yes when the server restarts all bases respawn. Also I found out you can only destroy the once, then they are invinsable, bug I assume. I am not sure why it does that.

As for the BS problem, I think it's good. Remembering Homeworld, you allways wanted a fighter escort for your big ships becaus they couldn't handle the smaller, faster ships.

Rey, I haven't tried this yet but, if a station is destroyed, what happens to the docking ring? Is it destroyed too? or does it just sit there? What if ya try to dock with it after the station is gone? It might crash... I dunno... Might test it later..

Haha! When I came up with the solution to the BS docking problem, I also fixed the base destruction problem! Now when a base is destroyed, you can still dock and undock with it by using the docking ring! I tried it! I destroyed Battleship Missouri, came back later to find it still gone. I docked with the ring and ended up on Missouri, and when I undocked I came through the docking ring. The server didn't crash! God, I really am a genious

Wow! It's kinda odd... but hey, it works. The only problem that might occur is if a smaller ship still docked with the station, and not the ring. Inless you disable docking with the station... in that case you could only dock with the rings. Just be sure not to make rings destructable!

BTW: I've got a 2.0 Beta 2 server up most of today.

I was thinking... with all the weapons you can put on the ships, it gets kinda hard to see where you are aiming because of all the bolts... especially with the beam weapons. It's ok, but if ya wanna tweak the effects some to be smaller, it might be easier. I also noticed that on my test fighter (it's the Piranah or Barracuda heavy fighter model from normal FL, I think ya called it the "Hammerhead" ) I loaded it up completely with beamers, and it slowed my computer down some when I fired all over the place! And I have a pretty high-end computer. But It looked soooooo awesome! Anyhoo, I do think you should add some stuff to Alaska, since it's soo hard to get to, but FYI: ya might want to increase the damage of the minefield around the Alaska Jumpgate. I almost got thru it with my test ship without taking damage, and once I used all my shield batts, I still had plenty of nanno's (but no wings or anything). It's fun tho to lure enemies there and watch them run into the minefield and pinball around till the explode, or come out badly damaged.

Another thing: Does having weapons with dufferent speeds affect your accuracy? I thought it was harder to hit enemies with a speed varied weapon setup than just a all one speed setup. Also, the addition of missiles to an arsenal may mess up the aiming reticule as well. I equipped two firestalkers on my test ship, with all others being beamers, and the aimer was still far ahead of the ship.

Also on the missiles: If ya put missiles on some of the slots you added, particularly the two spot on each side under the top fin, ya can aim the backwards, but not fire them with "q" BUT if you push their respective number with the number keys, then thay fire! Rear Firing Missile Turrets, anyone?

On a funny side note, the HardPoint you added over the Headlight on that ship allows the wepon to point backwards as well, but it does so through the ship! It still fires correctly, but it looks funny...

Anyhoo, can't wait to try Beta 2 later tonight!

OH! BTW: Your trila of "CRUISE_SPEED_DISPLAY 450" doesn't work. It gives an error in the server log about how it can't find it or something. I saw a post somewhere on the forums that listed all the extra thing you could add to constants.ini. It came out of a dll or the exe or something. Ya might wanna look for it.

Today i try out the new liberty battleship

*1st BUG* - docking thingie w/battleship
I tried docking with Norfolk Shipyard with a liberty battleship and my client crashed!!! ( i think so ) I was getting h-fuel from missiouri

*UPDATE* Whoops, it seems that i tried docking with the station itself rather than the rings. Docking with battlship missiouri is disallowed is good measure, but when i try to dock with norfolk shipyard, the client will show the extend docking cutscene and then it minimizes to desktop, freezes and crashes

*2nd BUG* - trading w/battleship
I tried trading with the battleship, i get the H-fuel from missiouri then fly to norfolk shipyard, sold my entire cargo at a tidy sum. the problem is when i buy toxic waste from norfolk shipyard, the trade did not finalize coze the station thinks my cargo is still full (which it does not). i thought maybe it was a one-way trade, but when after i docked with missiouri, it seems that i cant buy h-fuel anymore and the station still thinks my cargo is full

When in doubt, shoot.

I just thought of something. What if the BS can't dock with Orillion's BS (can't remember the name!)? Ya can't add docking rings to it because it changes positions! I guess then that BS are out for SP missions, at least the last few missions... especially since they'd get wasted by the Nomads if ya re-did their weapons... wait... whatabout the missions where ya have to go into the alien outpost and steal the energy core? can a BS fit in there? whatabout Tekagi's Arch? Can BS dock with it?

One other thing... since the BS are sold in BS now, where are the TIE ships? Or did ya update the readme?

Waitasecond... I looked in the readme and it sez they are in the BS Yukon, but where is it?! I looked on my nav map and didn't see it... Did ya add it, or am I just blind? (probably the latter :-) )

Single player doesn't need the docking rings. If you just esc from the cinematic, you will be docked.

Ahh... ok. Now, we just need someone to test the un-docking from the ship, but it should be ok, since it works right on other battleships. I dunno tho, it's a special one...

Battleship Yukon is in the California system next to planet Los Angeles. ANd I too have the same problem with the battleships. The little meter says the cargo bay is full, and yet I have nothing in the cargo bay.

Ahhh... thanks Khaos! The BS cargo thing seems troubling. I don't see a reason for that happening. Maybe it requires some extra coding? Has anyone experienced this on other BS mods? I may look into it later...

Great suggestions, I will think about what I can do. Here are the systems I plan to add / revamp

Liberty - Alaska system
Bretonia - Earl system
Kusari - Okanowa system
Rheinland - Nurnberg system

Yeah I know some of the hard points look really funny. I will reduce the size of the turrets beams so they are small and easier to aim

I'll get rid of the diplay thing, I thought it might work and forgot to take it out.

As far as teh ?'s to the single player mission, in all honesty I haven't even beaten the game yet! LOL. I have never got past the the part where trent goes see tobias. I find modding more fun then playing actually hehe.

BS yukon is right next to Planet California

You don't need to dock with any station anymore, dock ONLY with it's docking ring please I noticed you didn't use the norfulk dock ring.

I am not sure about the cargo issue, I tested it last night and it worked just fine.

Update:

The cargo issue has me a little worried. I am not experiencing it. What BS are you guys using? I am using the kusari one. I will test it with each battleship.

Also if you have trouble with a planet please let me know so I can adjust it.
