Looks good. Make some custom turrets to go with it and i'll help you with the conversion.

Wanderer, Victor - I have another small problem. I usually dwell in the 'newbie questions? - look no further' thread by accushot, where i try to help out and answer as many quesetions as possible for people.

However, i have a prob. This guys ship doesn't seem to be working. I now have a copy, its a very very nice model, but it crashes on leaving manhatten. Do you know what the causes of this are? As the package for the ship, and also the goods entries are fine. The shiparch.ini entry looks fine - but then again, i don't know how much stuff needs to be there at all? And of course, except for adding hardpoints, i really have no clue about anything else to do with ships. Any chance you guys could help us out? Do you know what might cause the crash on launch, or do you have some spare time to take a peek (can email it too you if the guy agrees to it, the files are complete - ie, dll and stuff sorted -though named wrongly...lol)

p.s- the skin whatever is invisible in equipment room, and invisible on landing pad / shipdealer as well, but i have never seen that crash a ship before......

Its most likely a wrong declaration somewhere. Strip everything but the powerplant, sensor and engine and take off. If it crashes, one of those 3 are your problems. Check the respective equip and goods ini to make sure that they are linked properly. This is a common error for new ships.

Wanderer - already done that ages ago.......hence why it has got me flumoxed. Spelling is correct in the CMP file as well...........just plain baffled! Thanks anyways

for the turrets, should they have separate groups, like for the barrels, the mounts etc. so this turrets can rotate?

Or can you tell me the turrets contents in its cmp.

and of course its forwrd guns as you can see fire's continuous laser, just like in homeworld with their laser frigate

Firebase, you can do custom turret models. They have to be seperate models though. However, things are acting up now so i'm not sure if the conversion will go through smoothly.

Chips, try replacing the shiparch line of a default ship with the modified one. This is the last thing to tell you what went wrong. If that crashes, your missing a declaration in the cmp file. Did you include the HpMount, HpBaydoor01 and HpBaydoor02?

Wanderer - found the problem - it was very easy when i looked harder.......just never imagined that someone would have made this mistake!

He used the patroits ini entry in shiparch as the basis for his ships entry, only problem is that he didn't copy it, he USED it! Game was crashing cos as patroits were supposedly spawning on leaving manhatten, it had a fit due to their being no such thing as a patroit!! Funny, and also the first time i have heard of something like this!
