YES! YES! oh GOD YES!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I want to see how nV's new graphics card performs, and then wait until it drops in price a little.

Nice one Duke, next you'll be telling us that "it'll be upgraded when it's upgraded."

Post Tue Oct 09, 2007 6:06 pm

Quiet you! And you as well Muskrat! I'll upgrade near the end of the year, I'm just waiting for the right time. You'll see. As for May/June Indy, they'll already be looking at releasing the NEXT generation of graphics card then, so I can't afford to wait that long. Yes, I must be patient... Besides, HL2: Episode 2 won't be released for another week (or something like that), Crysis is to be released in November, Bioshock still has copy protection and Strangehold isn't the masterpiece that it was supposed to be. Hence, I have time.

EDIT: Oh, and stop disparaging my intentions?! I *must* upgrade; I have no choice! Well, I could switch to consoles, but I'm not that desperate. Yet.

how many years have you been banging on about this upgrade? 5 years now? in the name of the Valar, even my planning timescales aren't that hopeless. now it's the new nV card, is it? I look forward to your next pathetic excuse with anticipation!

(the dog ate my graphics card/my mum burnt my motherboard on the fire/some bigger rabbits came and stole my processor/the new PCI-e motherboards are incompatible with ginger beer/I can't get public liability insurance on the Burrow - hmm, I'd go to Indycorp Insurance Services for that one.)

the new PCI-e motherboards are incompatible with ginger beer

Is anything?

*I* am fully compatible! As for you Moolah, lies! All lies! I haven't even *had* Typhon for five years, it has been three! In addition, I have only been planning to upgrade for 18 months... or is it 2 years? Anyway, not that long. Hmph!

Post Thu Oct 11, 2007 12:12 am

it's not lies at all. you've been saying that Typhon would be "upgraded" since trhe day you joined TLR which is at least 3 yrs ago, prob 4, and all you've done is add a new mouse, stop using FAT, and downsize the memory. Meanwhile Borromir is now on his fourth (poss even fifth) cpu/mobo/video card combo, having started his existence in 2000(?) as a K2-6-550 with 64mb SD-RAM and a Voodoo 3dfx, he's now a Core 2 with 4gb DDR2 RAM and an nV7800GTX.

so are you actually ever going to do it or will you still be prevaricating this time next year?

Post Thu Oct 11, 2007 5:47 am

So let's see here.

Had the thingy for 3 years and been planning to upgrade it for 2.

Basically meaning that the Wombat King is no better a PC buyer and possibly worse than the average first time D*ll buyer.

Post Thu Oct 11, 2007 10:34 am

he average first time D*ll buyer

that'd be you three years ago before your Uncle Taw taught you the Dark Magic....

Post Thu Oct 11, 2007 9:20 pm

There's a difference between *wanting* to upgrade, and *planning* to upgrade Taw. Besides, the only reason that Typhon lasted for three years was because I purchased the right components at the right time (except for the CPU). Is it unreasonable to see how nV's new series of graphics cards perform before I make a purchase? Of course not. *Shoots everyone a superior glance and hops off*

Yeah, yeah mock my olde PC all you wish. The fact that he still runs perfectly after more than three years of constant heavy use proves just how good he actually is. *Sniffs and strolls off*

I am waiting for the patch that gets rid of the copy protection before I buy it. If they dont fix it I dont buy it. I E-mailed the Publisher about it over 12 times now I wonder if I am the only one bit**ing about it.
