Ok, here goes... (What am I getting in for??)
NAME: Dominic Santino
AGE:17 Physically, 893 Chronologically
FACTION:Freelancer
Ship:More like a lack of ship
Appearance:Curly black hair, 6 foot 2, strong, missing his left eye
Bio: A litteral throwback from the system Sol, Dom was born on Io during the interplanitary war between the Alliance and the Coalition. After reading the writing on the wall, Dom outfitted his fighter with the best shipboard AI and sleeper suit he could come up with, and took off in chase of the 5 sleepers.
Some people are like slinkies. They don't do anything, but you can't help but smile as they tumble down the stairs.

Hm. Novel. Let's see where this goes.
Two quick points though; Dominic should be over 800 years old (chronologically, of course) since the events in Freelancer - which lead up to our game - take place around 800 AS, iirc. (I'm assuming Dom left around the same time as the sleeper ships but didn't have the benefit of any sort of FTL drive.) Also, I believe the enemies of the Alliance were known as the Coalition, not the Confederation.
Edit:
Okay, so I've read your first post. It's quite good. I don't think it does the whole "fish out of water" theme justice though. I mean, here the guy is, in a ship no-one but the most avid history buff will recognize showing up out of nowhere. He won't have any faction tags or a Neural Net or anything like that. It's quite possible that he'd have no way to communicate at all with the denizens of Sirius - at least, not while he's still on his ship.
He knows about the Sleeper ships, so he'll be expecting the dominant forces to be Bretonia, Hispania, Kusari, Liberty and Rheinland but he won't know where they are. He certainly won't know where he is, nor will he have any way of figuring that out until he lands somewhere, imo. He won't know about docking rings since they are Ageira inventions. So he'll probably just angle to the nearest inhabited planet and land there - much to everyone's great surprise - the old-fashioned way.
There's also the issue of where he'll actually pitch up. It seems most plausible that the AI will wake our slumbering voyager at first contact with an inhabited planet. Now, I don't know where Sirius (not the star, the sector) is in relation to Sol but I find it hard to believe that he'll wind up all the way in the Texas system. It seems more likely that he'd wake in one of the Edge/Border Worlds, or maybe Edinburgh or Dublin. Look at the FL universe map and pick a system of your choice which is on the "circumference" rather than in the interior.
Um. That's all I can think of right now. Consider what I've written and make any changes you'd like. The idea definitely has a lot of potential. Make the most of it.
If you have any questions, e-mail me. Address is in my profile and I check it often.

I bow to your superior knowledge, codename, I wasn't sure where to start out at, and I just sort of pointed at the map and landed in Texas, however, it is perfectly reasonable to wind up in Texas. After all there should be 1000's of miles between systems. It would make since that he miss a few, besides, I need a police base to land at. Thank you for the advice, and I will edit.

Codename's right, though. Your char's neural net would be 800 years out of date, ergo it would be probably impossible for you to know the name of the planet you are landing at, the system you are in, etc. And you definitely wouldn't know which faction controlled the system you were in, or what factions did or didn't survive, or even if indeed the names of the colony ships had become the names of the factions. OR if it was the ruling faction of the area that was stealing your diamonds or an underground pirate group. You might not even speak the same language.
perhaps, depends on the technology, and where would it draw this information from? other ships? it could figure out the solars and planet topography most likely, but i doubt very much it could extract names. chances are he would just head for the nearest populated planet, land, and hope for the best. also if the weapon sstem went out 14 years prior, who knows what else failed as well....
