Yeah if you let me It's getting to heavy and I need the creds

I wasn't worrying. I just had to post something kinda humerous . I knew that something big like losing a ship wouldn't be. I just couldn't resist the chance to go "ARRAGAHGAHAAHGAAGHMUAAHAHAHAGEEYAA"

Continuation of the mini-debate that shouldn't be in the main thread:

Well, it might be a bit much (read: egotistical) for me to be complaining about these things, but I thought it was more of a small reminder. No, I'm not gonna complain about shipnames in italics anymore (especially since it appears that editing removes the formatting.) I'm not going to complain about mispelled names, either. I'd just like to get it out in the open that I prefer things to be spelled correctly. If I make a mistake, I don't mind one bit if someone points it out to me. Actually, I'd like that. And you know that saying, "Do unto others as you would they do unto you?"(Or something like that, not sure exactly, correct me if you know I don't see what's wrong.

Yeah, Psawhn is kinda hard to spell. I guess I use the same little strategy as all other words I'm not sure of. CTRL-N to bring up a new window, <-Backspace to go to the previous page, look for the word I'm not sure of, and then ALT-TAB to (re)place it in my writing. It's a bit tricky for words I'm not sure of, but CTRL-N, CTRL-O then www.meriam-webster.com gets me to a fairly good dictionary page rather quickly. All in less than 30s.

There, now. That's my opinion, and, as already stated, I'm only "complaining" (reminding is what I think I'm doing) about this stuff this one time. If I get any more responses (aside from proper questions) my answers going to be:
"What, you're still on about that?"

Lutz, Nice job on the fight. It's good to have the highest kill

Well, considering you couldn't get rid of the gold, and with the sudden influx of the stuff it's gonna be a bit worthless, I had to give you something

If it wasn't for the inky blackness of the night you wouldn't appreciate the brilliance of the stars...

Whasp, check my last post. I had my the Cerulean Dream being tugged over from the Arizona, but unfortunately for me the ship was in pieces because the Techs had taken it apart. Write in your Dragon however you want. If the techs were pouring over my ship, I'd doubt they'd had messed with yours yet. I bet it was the Dream's electric blue paint job that attracted them to my ship instead of yours.

Hey storytellers....

I was just wondering if it was okay with you if I join in on the fun that is this Webstory. Beleive me, I'm very interested.

Assuming that you do let me in, I'm also wondering if this is an acceptable way to enter the story.

Thomas Johnson gets captured by an LSF sting operation in Hamburg. Mistakingly classed as a High Security Prisoner, he was taken onto the LNS Arizona to be dropped off at the LPI Vindictive (a prison base) in whatever the heck system this is (I'm not really sure). During the ensuing confusion, he managed to get into an escape pod and blast off into space. Fortunately for him, he'll be found and taken onto the Vengeance, where he'll work as a greasemonkey until he gets a ship. (Hey, I'll do anything )

I hope this will do nicely if you choose to accept me into the story. If you don't want me in, that's ok.

Jim, Sounds fine to me! The final answer is wih Wizard though...
If you do join I think your first piece should be how you put the Cerulean Dream back together again!

Post Mon Aug 04, 2003 9:28 pm

Jedi! That last post you did was AWESOME!!!

/claps!

It fit the story line great and really got your characters history out! Keep it up bud!

Post Mon Aug 04, 2003 9:47 pm

I do remember something earlier in this thread about Wizard telling you that you are now the story tellers, but I guess permission from him is warranted.

Hey Wizzy, is it okay with you if I join the Webstory in the above mentioned way?

Okay, Lutz. I can get you the Cerulean Dream up and running in three days -- but I'll need a 500 credit down payment and 500 upon completion. (Spoken like a true mechanic....)

Post Mon Aug 04, 2003 9:56 pm

Jim, your welcome to the Dream . It would make an interesting plot twist for Quigley.

Yeah, great! A new spirit in our story. But be sure to pass it by Wizard first.

btw, everyone I got a new post, it belongs actually before Lutz's six-pager but I was a bit too late, so just imagine it is

Edit: and a second one. together it took me about three hours in total, but I think it was worth it. Have fun reading and responding to it

OOC: wizard, may I remind you that a click is a landmile, and that the distance that you describe is something like twice the distance from here to the moon

allright lads, I'm sorry I posted this in the original thread. but here it is and I will post my comments further on here in stead of in the story. it's going well by the way 98 posts and counting (up).

<p.s.- call me a nitpick for such things but I think those things have got to be said>

Post Mon Aug 04, 2003 11:46 pm

I've always used the word "Click" to describe 1 unit of the most common distance in a story.
If I was writing in light years, I'd use a click as 1 lightyear. If I was writing a fantasy story I'd probably write in leagues (3 miles) so I'd use a click for a league. I know this ain't right, but that's how I'd do it.
In Freelancer I think the units are metres and kilometres, so a click would be a kilometre...
