Yeah, I think that's a good spot for it. It fits all the content we have in the story so far just fine. Nice spot for jumpholes, too.

Well, maybe something for an uncharted jumphole then?

anyway, I made up a pic of what I think the New Harlem system could look like.
Forgive the scetchy appearence it makes, I currently lack the nessesary tools to make it look a bit more hightech



To explain

The white dot is (duh) the star.
The large brown circle is planet New Harlem
the grayish lines are the tradelanes.
the gray rectangles are jumpgates to New York (south) and Colorado (north east) but looking at it's lokation in accordance to the other systems and bearing in mind, Lutz's command, It may aswell be the Jumpgate to Kepler.
The large blue field in the south, around the New York Jumpgate is an icefield.
The dark-gray area north-east of Planet New Harlem is a dark matter cloud.
The tradelane running from the planet to the north-west of the system leads to a research station, but that's optional and could actually be anything that fits in the story.
The huge gray area to the west of the system is a astroidfield rich of .... Copper perhaps? Again, it can be anything that fits into the story.

Any comment on this is apreciated. I'm very sure there will be comment on this

Edit: reading the first posts I read CptSavage's story. There appears to be a jumpgate to New Jersey with a Planet Atlanic. He also introduces a New Nevada system, but he's not giving any indication on where it's located.
I'll post more discoveries when I read on

Big OOC request: Could new people perhaps wait with introducing their characters until the story gets out of New Harlem. We don't want everything to happen in the same system.

(sorry for the new post, but I felt simply editing it into my last post would make it kinda invisible)

Also, guys, there used to be a post in between my first and CptSavage's first. His char Arrigoni is being KO-ed by some unknown character, I suspect it was Sagara who did it, but I might be wrong. Anyway Everyone reacted to that incident. Sagara (I'm blaming it on you, because it explains easier, not saying it was you. Hope you understand) Rushed up to Lutz, holding him at gunpoint and knocking Arrigoni out.
All we have now is arrigoni with a big lump on his head, and a trio headed into space who came together because of what happened in the bar.
Are we gonna leave it this way?

Aye, no worries. It would explain easier as the person who Ko-ed Arrigoni was a Kusari. However, Sagara Seki never landed. He's been stuck in space this whole time. I suppose it could have been his evil twin (er, younger brother that is)...but I did not write that part in.

Not entirely, Nickless. I ended my post about being pushed into the table with some unknown person pushing Quigley and clubbing Ariggone. Maybe it can be written that the Kusari (the evil twin?) was trying to get a clear shot at Lutz, but we were in the way so he moved us. Before he could get a shot off, the tussle had attracted to much attention toward him or the area.

It was my character Azrakai, but Wiz deleted the post because I hadn't signed up at that time. Heres his profile.
The man...

My Character is a mercanary called Azrakai San . Is of Kusari origin and about 6'1. Has long Spiked black hair and a large scar across his left eye. Dresses like a combination between Blade and Neo. Is a master at Martial Arts specialising in his clans custom Saiya-Kwon. Prefered weapons are a pair of high powered blaster pistols (FR-34's) which are banned through out Sirus due to their destructive nature. Also uses a variety of throwing daggers and a long Katana sword which is kept in a holster on his back. Has also been known to use a Naginata in certain circumstances.

His Ship...

The name of his ship is Yusei-Gachi (which when translated means - Winner through superiority) a name which suits it well. The Yusei Gachi was once a standard AP-8050 Hammerhead which has been heavily customised. Instead of it flying the way a standard Hammerhead would fly it actually flies on it side (the standard Hammerhead flies standing vertical, while Azrakais ship flies horizontally). A good way of demonstrating this is go to the Hammerhead picture in the pilotable ships guide and rotate it once anti-clockwise). While this may seem unorthadox it allows the Yusei-Gachi to have increased handling and in the hands of a pilot as skilled as Azrakai can be compared to the Dragon in terms of agility. It is armed with a pair of Reaver Mk II's (which were 'confiscated from a Junker in the Texas system) a pair of Tizona Del Cid's (which were taken from a Corsair who offended the Azrakai's father) and a pair of Skyblast A's as well as a Skyblast B turret (which were all obtained using a contact in the GMG). Azrakai has installed a Sunslayer Torpedo launcher and removing the original Mine placement has replaced it with a rear firing Cannonball missle launcher (to deter those who would wish to follow the Yusei-Gachi. Should his mission be to capture a target Azrakai keeps a Paralyzer missle launcher in his hold which when mounted replaces one of the Reaver Mk II's. Six Statis chambers have been outfitted in the cargo hold at the cost of 15 storage units. The Yusei-Gachi incorporates a level 8 graviton shield purchased through a contact on Malta (Azrakai's got quite a few contacts out there).
The Yusei Gachi is one of the very best ships that the Saiyan fleet has to offer, used only for their most dangerous missions. This is pleases Azrakai as it allows him to use his ship to its fullest potential, but if he were to fail using a ship of this caliber, the shame to his honor and family ultimate.

The Saiyans...

His mercanary clan is called "The Saiyans" and they operate out of a Base not to disimilar to "The Arch". They are they elite in the sense that they never fail to complete a mission and rarely ever lose a soldier in battle. If a Saiyan is struck down then their body and ship are both destroyed so that their souls can wonder the stars freely. They work as unoffical special forces team for large corporations and occasionally the houses and will never betray a deal. But be warned, if a Saiyan is double crossed, the whole wrath of their clan will be brought to bear on those who dared to defy them.

Azrakai is the son of a Saiyan Noble and posesses the extraordinary reflexes, speed, agility and strength of his kin (it is unknown if genetic engineering is repsonsible for this but it would explain a few things) his fathers name is Harako San and is one of the greatest Saiyan warriors in the clans history. This fact pushes Azrakai to excel himself so that he doesn't have to live in his fathers shadow and can earn his place in the Saiyan's Pride. A hall where the greatest Saiyan warriors are honored.

Azrakai is cool and calculated but on occasion has a tendancy to let his rage get the better of him a slaughther anyone that gets in his way. This trait is not unique to Azrakai though, it has been recorded through out the ages and greatly increases a warriors fighting ability (possibly a by product of genetic engineering)

Allignment: To those his masters wish him to serve.

But we should leave as is IMO. It sort off follows on how we got together anyway, Lutz and Michael and Arrigoni being at flight school together and everything.

Also, one rule of Freelancer I'd like to cahnge is concerning damage from missiles and torps. As you know in Fl any missile hits a shiled at 1 health the remaining damage is NOT transfered through to the hull. I think this should be corrected if that OK with all?

Nickless, worked fine for me buddy.
I'm probably gonna tweak the sheet, let people use it to test out what happens if they combine weapon x with weapon y, etc... Let me play for a bit, I'll let you know what happens. Should ba good tool for ship load outs.

Actually, if anyone has the ships power outputs for power plants that would be awesome. I'm thinking someone like Sherlog may have this?

OK, I've sorted out my sheet now. Basically you have 7 cells. 6 guns, 1 turret.
If you want to use less you just leave some blank (And this won't work for Freighters Im afraid)
Each cell has a drop down list, and you pick your gun.
The sheet then gives you a summary:
Total energy output (Pershot that is)
Energy used per sec
Total Shield Damage per sec (Assuming 100% accuracy)
Total Hull Damage per sec (Assuming 100% accuracy)
And wether or not all speed of projectiles match.
Should come in handy as it allows you to see flaws in your weapon set up design. I'm emailing it onto Nickless to uplaod if he would be ever so kind, replacing the current one.

I've used Ensigns info, but changed the Drake A cannon to a refire rate of 4.

Does it alow you to choose on wich ship it goes, So the sheet tells you if the guns you picked actually fit on that hardpoint? (class limitations)
