here's a new model called the "pandora" i just called it that it's unskinned since theres no feedback from my last skin it's again based on a previous model that seems to work and look good for whatever, it's a frieghter concept there just dosn't seem to be to many frieghters link
also i think i'll take a break from all the models i may pick it back up or just forget about it, right now i have too much to do and not enough time to do it

Oh and your ship looks like something out of Final Fantasy, but since I don't play FF, I wouldn't know. But it looks kinda cool. Whats the poly count?

i don't play FF either can't even play Fl at the moment
about the poly count i don't have a clue. let me check quick

dosn't look like it's a very big number

I wouldn't ming giving it a try. It looks pretty hard to skin but it's grouped pretty good. It might take a bit to get it all done since I make almost everything from scratch. My texture collection is still a bit small but growing with each ship I make.

I call this one the Attack Probe. It's really designed to be an NPC ship that comes in waves of about 30. It only holds one turret and a shield. It's almost like a mobile weapons platform.

Attack Probe...hmm i like that idea. Lots of tiny tiny ships.
Would they be launched from a certain base somewhere? Or just spawn like nomads..

I did add a similar idea using ship classes. There was a drone_escort, drone_defender, drone_intercepter each with a unique loadout. The escort was planned on escorting trade vessels, it was a nice idea, but i didn't have a decent model for the drones.

Hmm. Toolkit 1.3 will feature new ways for modders to manipulate Encounters like that idea. Only real problem is to keep the polycount down so that the little devils don't drop people's framerate too badly... hmmm

That's the exact idea behind the attack probe. The poly count is ectremly low so you could spawn lot's of em. I was thinking of an encounter zone around a base with near 100% chance of encounter, kinda like protection for that base. Or you could spawn about 8 or 10 with no rest time between encounters. You would just be pestered by these little guys until you finished your buisiness in the area and got out. It could also serve as protection for player faction bases so the computer could help defend the area when not too many players are online. Think of them like weapons platforms that are harder to hit and respawn quickly. The coding would not be too dificult.

What type of weapons and sheilds are we talking about these little buggers? Also, power capacity? Recharge? And armor.

That would be entirely up to the coder. Me personally, I would make a few versions with different guns, shields, and armor. The stronger ones would patrol the bases deep within a factions space and the weaker ones would be in semi neutral space where you would most likely run into less powerful members of that faction.
