** Tutorial ** - Drizzt4.0''s FL Ship Creating Tutorial
Here you can discuss building custom ships, texturing and 3D modeling in Freelancer
hey, when i used the MAT exporter for milkshape, but i still get a white ship, i checked to make sure the textures are fliped and that the shiparch points to the right mat file, and it all checks out. any idea whats wrong? also, if anyone could tell me how it would be possable to make a ship have 32 engine hardpoints that show up in the game, i tryed but only the first like 8 and engine number 13(?)shows up, is there an im-game limit?
yep, Jev's back, anyway, I got bored and gave up before (no offense, I lost interest in FL for a while), but i recently decided to give it another shot, ive modeled my ship, edited the INIs, and everything, then finally ran freelancer to try it out, but the game crashes on the screen that says "Freelancer" Just after the intro movies and just before the main menu, its there for about a second then it crashes to the desktop without an error message.
I tried to follow the tutorial as much as possible, but when i try to open the buy menu to buy my new ship the game crashes. Do you know any possible faults i might have made and how to fix them?
maybe useful information
- i did all the modelling in milkshape, not gmax
- i didn't make a jet but a simlpe flat square thing
- i'm n00b to modding
-left the game

go to http://www.davidhsmith.net/Essential_Tools.htm and look for .md3 exporter.

Great Job, but unfortunately i can't get my model to work. I put it for sale on the Missouri, with the code as "marketgood = RH-5700_package, 1, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1"
can you tell me why i can't buy my ship? And another question on page 39 or so it says you need to put Nameresources.dll and another .dll file, where can i find those file?

Whoah, I can see why Argh wanted me to make a new tutorial. It will be up in about a month. There are soooo many better ways of getting your ships into FL these days, Drizzts's tut while useful, was made back in the day when we did everything the hard way.
I should be starting a tutorial as soon as I release my latest addon.
Hope to see you guys on the forums. Chow for now.

Er... I've been having some problems. I have that invisible ship problem, and... I don't know what to do. It's no Dc_Type or whatever problem, I can see the hardpoints (guns) where they should be meaning it's the right size, and the LOD range is 0, 2000. I don't know if it's a texture problem, but I flipped it vertically like I was supposed to... And the problem definitely isn't where all the outside triangles show up black. Can anyone help me here?
Graaaagh!!!
