Update:
Discovered the cause of the base ID conflict:
I'd combined System files and a Universe.ini file from 2 versions.
AND!!!
The Universe.ini file was corrupt.
Took some doing, but it's fixed!

As I work nights, and I haven't been to bed, yet, I'll upload a new version sometime tomorrow, or Saturday.
(Check the date before downloading it.)

Update:
New version is on the FTP site.
All with access, please download, test, and report back.
Thanx!

Meanwhile...
I'm gonna whip up a patch for the "Set Paths."
I'm sure someone will cry for it.
And who knows?
Maybe it'll solve the problem with the "Trade Routes" not working, too.
'Til later!

Awesome warzog, downloading now.
By the way, i've been dorking around with some background images, but it is difficult not being able to wallpaper them into the game myself to make adjustments.

It might be easiest to leave this as it is.. (?)

Maybe too, warzog... i just had a surge of inspiration:

Can you do the scenery of the different systems to coordinate with the nebulae on the expanded sirius system map... and to also coordinate with the backgrounds used in the game?

I know this would be kinda different, but it would at least match up better. I guess then that the oxford system would look like new berlin or dresden... and the blockade point systems would be green/edgeworld...

would that work?

Also, any new news on getting the paradigms to work?

lvxoccvlta:
I'd have to run through all 53 FL star spheres to find the ones I needed to match, but it could be done.

As to the Paradigm...
It's like the starspheres...
Need a modeler to apply the textures to get them to work.
I've put the version I have in, but I get "texture missing" errors every time it appears.
Get enough, and you get CTDs.
Just not worth the problems, so the old one is in the mod.
Bob says that they work fine for him.
I've run them several times, and even put it through the HardCMP program, and it verifies the missing textures.

Update:
1) Gone through the Nebula, Starspheres, Suns, and Basic Stars.
--a) Reworking all 70 systems' Nebula, Starspheres, Suns, and Basic Stars, data.

2) About 20% done with the "Jumpgate" / "Set Paths" patch.

3) Reworking the "Shortest_Path" ini files.
--a) About 10% done.

4) Retested the new Paradgim and the Bearcat, still a no-go on both.

5) Waiting on feedback of the repaired version of the mod.
--a) Two reports of it's being downloaded.

Update:
The 187kb "StarspherePatch" is on the ftp site.
It makes the starsphere/nebulae/stars/sun changes listed above.
Run it as any mod.

Update:
About 2/3rds through the Jumpgate patch.

Discovered, while working on it, that there are a few new bugs in the "repaired" version on the ftp.

Several wreck loadouts are non-existant, and will cause CTDs!
Also...
Several loadouts still have ammo/cargo on board.
So what, you say?
The new wrecks can be blown up.
Once they're blown up, after you land and take off again, they reappear.
(Complete with their ammo/cargo!)

Next version will have it repaired.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ok..Downloaded the newest version of Privateer: the Reckoning, and so far have visted 4 sectors with following problems, mostly minor:

1) In the ship upgrade menu for missiles; the listing for the AIM 15 Javelin and AIM-42 Spiculum missiles run over into the scroll bar area

2) Anapolis Refinery ; After the automated landing sequence, normally you go to a cutscene showing the ship landing then you have the view with your ship either on the landing pad or inside the landing bay. Instead you are transported directly to the station bar

Perry Station: The first time I was able to land it did the same thing as at Anapolis
Another attempt at landing ended in a crash to desktop as was happening in previous version.

On the first landing on Perry I was able to take a mission using Tarsus ship I completed the mission and retrieved the list required. Apon the employer scanning the list it crashed to desktop, corrupting the autosave game of last area saved

New Reno, ND-57 : Apon approaching the planet New Reno, no planet was visible, only the docking ring. Was able to land but no planet ever visible on landing or apon leaving planet

Oxford, Oxford Commodity Trader: No robot or NPC in sight, Can still go to menu bar to start trading tho

Again all planets except New Detroit will see you go directly to the bar instead of leaving you on the Landing Pad area to select: bar, commodity trader, ship upgrade or purchase new ship.

None of the planets are spinning at this time.

The wreck that is near Anapolis station gives off loot that allows someone at very low level to sell the loot for enough to buy a barebones Galaxy...kinda rich haul for someone that only has a couple of missions under their belts

Thats all for now....only the 2 CTD's to be really concerned about

Quixotal:
Thanx for the report.
see the 2nd prior message of mine.
the one about the wrecks.

Didn't know the going straight to the bar would be so annoying.
I'll have to ix it.

Again, thanx.

All those fixes and changes sound really good Warzog, I'm thrilled to see you're still going strong with the Mod and holding on. Keep up the good work, I can't wait to play your next version

Keep up the GREAT Work!

Eraser:
Thanx!
It's looking good, and the beta testers are a big help!

Update:
Finally discovered the problem with the Perry.
While changing the landing modes from the bar to the Planetscape, or Deck, I was able to land on Perry.
Unfortunately, when I went to the bar, it CTD!
So...
The problem wasn't the model, but the base!
(and reloading Freelancer and FLMM didn't help it.)

So...
Now, I've got to find a new base interior for Perry.

Update:
Turned out that one of Perry's base files was corrupt.
I've managed to repair it, and it works great now.

There were 3 other bases that used the same base template, that had the same problem.
Managed to fix them all.

Edit:
Quixotal:
New Reno in the ND-57 system seems to be invisible because of the sun, the nebula, and the planet's color, but it is there, at least in the version I'm running.
(Try flying through it!)

As to Oxford's missing robots, it appears that the bases' files are corrupt.
The robots are there, but the spot that they're supposed to stand at, aren't.

Keep up the great work!

Update:
The missing robots wasn't due to a corrupt base file.
It was due to an improperly set up set of entries in the mBases.ini file.
In order to save time while populating the 99 bases with the 540 people, and the 396 robots, I created several templates.
Some bases, planets, have "Planetscapes," others have "Cityscapes."
Some of those have individual rooms for each activity, some use the landing pads.
For some unknown reason, Oxford was set up as a station.
(Meaning, it had decks.)
Since it has no decks, the robots didn't show up.
I went through all 99 bases, and found about 4 that had this error, and it's been corrected.
Thanx Quixotal!

More bugs found:

1) Attempting to land on Rodin in Varnus resulted in a CTD; tried several times, same result.

2) All the lower quadrant planets and stations seem to have been given the same bar interior

3) I have yet to come across a robot bartender that has given any info in the 12 planets and stations I ve visited

4)Varnus Sun description indicates that it is a white star when its definitely deep orange

5)P64D Super Ferret seems to have gotten the F36G Hornet mini pic for the selection box

6) Tungsten supplies has only one buyer (Detroit) higher than the supply factory in Troy

7) Apon leaving a planet or Station, there is no retention of the info in regards to commodities or types of ships sold
