Privateer: The Reckoning MOD is ALIVE!
Here you can find news, get help and comment about the Privateer / Wing Commander Total Conversion called ?Privateer: The Reckoning? and accompanying Mods
warzog,
I don't know if this helps, I had the same problem with my original hornet. I had the cmp upside down. Try flipping the actual model. I thought it was invisible, but it was just underneath the ground. When I flipped it, it appeared. Course that may not be the problem you're having, but then again it may be.

Well,
When the ship launches you can see the exhaust ignite at ground level, and rise into the sky.
Then the exhaust flies through the docking ring, and you can fly the exhaust, and weapons all over the place.
If it's upside down I couldn't tell you...
The exhaust looks the same from any angle.
Watch your 6!

speaking of help: we need a closed developer forum. I do not find it funny that everything is being posted in one thread making it increasingly difficult to follow the development progress.
------
Hmm, I can follow it fine - just check in every day for a few minutes.
And a closed forum would be nice for some things, but, personally, I also like this arrangement in many ways - I've always preferred a more open conduction of activity for primary business. Though this may stem from my irrational fear of development forums.
Though, let's face it, this thread is 27 pages long - it's already "closed" for most newcomers.
warzog: Is it possible for you to upload the systems to the FTP or somewhere else> This is one of the most important elements of the mod, and I'm starting to worry about it's health :0

so I see. I personally have another few projects to work on and most importanly I prefer to have a clear structure of the development threads. You can post what you want in the public forum, but certain things should be discussed more in private.
WCS internal forum for example counts 2600 posts for example
Wing Commander Saga
Wing Commander Saga Forum

I still loveWing Commander. Given the right opportunity, I would definitely revisit it." - Chris Roberts.

That's true, though WCS and Reckoning are birds of a different feather; Reckoning don't have to deal with as many story or original elements. And personally I think too heavy use of development forums can make a mod invisible - both of WCS's public forums have gone for long reaches without new posts. I'm not publicity hound, but keeping elements public can not only bring in new members but act as a safeguard. Much as public debate does the same thing in government. In any case, I generally prefer to use email for private things. But that's just my thoughts; I'm not sure what the rest of the team thinks.
And we do, in fact, have our own forum. It isn't private, but it's threaded!

In my opinion we don't need any more closed forums, but we should make different Threads for the different issues here on LancersReactor. This 27 sites Topic is really weird.
Personally I prefer open discussions to closed ones. Like Bob said for the certain things which should be discussed in private there's still e-mail.

you do not get it, do you? I some cases it is better to have a developer forum and even then it is possible that certain information leaks. *peers through the sniper scope*

Sorry, but I don't.

You're kidding, right?
Are you planning on selling this mod?
How much do we get for helping to make it?
I'm broke, I can use some money.
And What information could leak that would cause World War III?
Is someone going to steal the mod out from under us?
Are you in hiding and afraid you're location would be revealed?

If...
If you are that paranoid about a mod being done as a Hobby...
for fun...
Might I suggest a good Psychiatrist?
(My son just got his degree, and could use a few patients.)
Or...
As we like to say in America:
"LIGHTEN UP!"
Bob McDob:
Is there a way to remove the Names from the Sirius Sector overview map?
They make it overly difficult to see all of the systems in the Gemini Sector.
Update:
The Gemini Sector should be ready for testing by the end of the day.

Bob McDob:
I uploaded the Script.xml & Systems/base info for the Gemini Sector to the ftp site.
Labeled: IncompleteGeminiUniverse.zip
If you add the files to Reckoning v1.08, or Privateer v1.02, and load a saved game, you can punch F6 to see the map.
(I wouldn't do any exploring, as it's about 2/3rds done, and the Liberty systems aren't in that version.)

warzog:
It is possible to get rid of the Sirius Sector Names. But you have to delete them in the ressources.dll. Unfortunately I don't know where, haven't tried it yet.
If you want to change the backgroundmap, which doesn't include the sector names, you have to open the nav_prettymap.3db in the \DATA\INTERFACE\NEURONET\NAVMAP\NEWNAVMAP\ folder with UTF Edit and extract ( and after editing include ) the MIP0 in the "Texture Library -> fancymap.tga" node as a tga file.
Well...I could do that too, but right now im busy with other things.

As you wish, my master. You humble servant does not dare to add any additional arguments; 'cause he will get flamed again... in most cases by persons, which I do not know how they ended joining the mod. But this matter is not of my concern as I see
But as I see noone is interested in a website or a forum, or in other words good representation. Your choice.
