Prefer cockpit view or third person?

I'm not a console gamer (though I have no problem with anyone who is - from what I've seen consoles have great games too, though I personally have chosen the PC route for myself). If you prefer the cockpit view, that's fine and I respect it - just some of us feel you get a better view for maneuvering from 3rd person. And as far as this being a simulator, that is debateable, but I'd say it really isn't. Actually, it's somewhere in between simulator and arcade shooter, but if I had to pick, my opinion is it's more arcade (whereas Starlancer, for example, is more of a sim).
Cockpit view 90% of the time. I only switch to 3rd person when I absolutely have to, like in the last couple of fights in the SP campaign. I somethimes use the "Roving" view to see what's off the the sides of my ship (since I don't have Radar to show me whats there).
I must admit, I miss having a Radar display. Particularly when someone decides to glue themselves to by backside and continuously pepper me! If I knew they were lining up behind me, I could circle around and nail them! Instead, I don't know about it until I start getting hit. Oh well.

Calm down and don't take it personal. It was just a friendly jab at console players. There has been and always will be a friendly competition between console players and pure PC gamers.
I came. I saw. I conquered. And sometimes get conquered.
