I like your comments, and I think you make a very good point there! Yes there are different types of Space Games. The more Shoot-em up types like Wing Commander and Starlancer. Then there are the more "Elite" type games like X-Tension and X-Beyond The Frontier by Egosoft.
So I surpose it fair to say that I prefare the Elite clones, rather than the Shoot-em up types.
Starlancer was aimed at being a Shoot-em up type of game. Which made it very different from the Egosoft games. Which is why I would not compare that game. But they have tried to make Freelancer more along the same lines of the Egosoft games. In the Trading aspects of the game etc. Maybe they made a mistake there! Because if it was designed to be a direct competitor to the Egosofts games. They have failed badly!
