BaronVH

I like your comments, and I think you make a very good point there! Yes there are different types of Space Games. The more Shoot-em up types like Wing Commander and Starlancer. Then there are the more "Elite" type games like X-Tension and X-Beyond The Frontier by Egosoft.

So I surpose it fair to say that I prefare the Elite clones, rather than the Shoot-em up types.

Starlancer was aimed at being a Shoot-em up type of game. Which made it very different from the Egosoft games. Which is why I would not compare that game. But they have tried to make Freelancer more along the same lines of the Egosoft games. In the Trading aspects of the game etc. Maybe they made a mistake there! Because if it was designed to be a direct competitor to the Egosofts games. They have failed badly!

Duh. X2 can't compete to anything if it's not out yet (my sympathies to egosoft forum members). Even if it can get published, I doubt it will want to challenge FL head-to-head in the marketing sense. It's smarter to wait a while until FL buzz and mania has cooled down.

I agreed with baron, you said it. Ever heard the saying, "If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it"? Well, if you dont like this game, dont come to a major fan site and say that another game is soooo much better, even when it isnt released yet. Your asking for a ban and a utter contempt. Not the best way to make friends...
