Lynx to get into the cockpit press CTRL + V its much better in their.

do you see anything arcade-ish in the combat? (whoever said cartoonish, made a poor choice of an adjective is all)

Is there a way to get a view from inside the cockpit while in combat? I get the feeling I am control a miniature RC spaceship in combat with other miniature Shipships. I have no feeling that I am in a fighter spaceship.

This is important if I am to purchase the game. I am sure glad MSFT made a demo I would have hated to be disappointed out of the 50$. Now I am only disappointed. I think it has awesome potential. Hell Mercs can go FFP why cannot FL? Other than a design decision and some coding?

Cheers, I still hope I am wrong and we can set it to First Person view from the cockpit.

Coolness! Thanks Guys I will try this today! Ctrl+V to change. SWEET This may well be a great game after all!

Did anyone agree with me though about the third person view seeming arcadish?

Thanks again guys!

i-war 2 is an awesome game. It definitly goes for a more realistic and 'sim-y' feel. Freelancer is all about an action game in space, its very different, but still fun.

i-war 2 has the realistic newtonian constant thrust = constant accaleration model, while freelancer has the star wars 'airplanes in space' constant thrust = constant speed model. It also has some very star wars blaster-ish sound effects I've noticed, which sound pretty cool

Ofcourse for best space sim story, it has to goto Tie Fighter..

still argueable the best space game ever.. and best game of all time..

Yeah... I agree that some people (read IW2) have tried to do things more "realistic", and FL is a bit more about plain fun (read fiction), IMHO...

I preffer the latter! The former is just to hard to get into for most people...
