This game is amazing! Mouse Flight = the future of Space Simulations! WOW. The atmosphere, the debris field, the pirates, the ships, the controls ALL AMAZING. The only bad thing is the stilted speech for the random mission people.

same here on the file front...on the asks for key...didn't give me one....bastages

You know what? When i read that the demo is now free for download i deleted the exclusive version and got in line to download the new one. And now you are telling me they would have given me a valid key code? Damn... i think i really have a talent to stretch my waiting time to the max. lol.

Anyway, 46 minutes left in line... and its 7:13 in the morning. I need to get this demo before i can go to bed.

Hey, thanks for the head-up on the gamespy thing.

You don't HAVE to uninstall it, just click the installer again, go through the process, get the CD-Key, then exit. Then open up FL and paste the key there.

I just tried out the game for a bit (I don't have much time tonight though working tommorow). And it's great, the graphics run smoothly and NICELY on my machine, I have no soundcard issues with my Soundblaster Live! 5.1. The music is fantastic. The storyline from the intro is something new that I haven't really seen. And Trent is a pretty cool guy .

Only dissapointment I have seen is that the textures looked a bit washed out and bland. I will have to check on the graphics settings later on, but as I said, I really don't have much time to play around with this spectacular game .

I've been lurking and waiting for Freelancer for what seems like years (oh! it has been!). I came on tonight and saw the news about the exclusive demo and my blood pressure shot through the roof. @&#*@&#*@ FilePlanet! I've been so sick of trying to get a file only to find out that it was only available on FilePlanet. It's hard enough to use their public servers, and now this one was only available to subscribers! The demo will be available on Monday, but then it's the middle of the week and I won't have time for gaming. Agh!

I spent about two minutes being angry, and then I was happily typing in my credit card number. Download is at 63% now (205kb/s).

I sure hope Fileplanet payed some good money to Microsoft for this one, 'cause the litte trick sure got me to finally give in (and probably lots of others).

Welcome to the forums. You do realize that the demo is available for non-subscribers as well now, do you? You're right about that, though: the trick they pulled off lured lots of people into subscription and i guess thats all they wanted to achieve.

16 minutes to go... before i can start downloading...

Well, they made the demo freely available. Good for them, and I hope they just do it from the getgo in the future.

Great game...the control interface does take getting used to, but after a while you don't want anything else. Graphics are good, but not spectacular. They've kept up with the trends during the development time.

The bad thing is Trent going 'uhuh' and the speech being a little corny...but it's manageable.

Nice 'polygons' work on Juni (or Junu or whatever)

Seems like a game where you think 'let's play for 10 minutes' and before you know, it's been 2 hours.

Gonna be a choice between FL demo or Eve beta (which is shaping up VERY nicely....) this weekend.
