The catch is, you have to be a subscriber. I am not going to spend another $5 just to get the demo :/

Only available to FilePlanet Subscribers...give me a break, someone PLEASE mirror this somewhere, I don't want to pay to play a FREE demo before the retail game is released....ARGGG!!!!

It's exclusive for Fileplanet subscribers.

FWIW, it costs $6.95 a month to sign up, and if you're lame enough to do it for Freelancer, at least you'll know you're not alone....I signed up 2 minutes ago.

7 bucks for a taste is worth it, or so I rationalized.

I'm d/l it now... i'll give a review shortly... it requires a key to activate the demo, but if it is shareable, i can upload.. that is if it's ok with gibby!

Of course its not illegial, its a PUBLIC demo to get people interested in the full product.

But I will not pay to dl it.

Why should they get cash for someones else work? Id rather wait for a mag demo or dl it from the official site (when they have it rdy to dl that is!)

It is a fileplant exclusive, though. They paid money so they would be the only way you can get it, until the game is released. After the game is released, then it will become public.

Demos are not like they used to be.

Hehe, that joke never gets old.

Apparently the demo will be available to non-FP subscribers in a week. Which for me means like 4 days before the game's released.

Unless FP paid DA/MS boatloads of cash for the exclusive, this doesn't strike me as a very good way to attract a fanbase.

Man alive, I want to play Freelancer today, I have a busy weekend ahead...so now thanks to the new Internet wonder of the Gamespy/FilePlanet "monopoly", I have to wait. Man, progress is great.
