Not to get too philisophical about it but it comes down to a difference between Ethics and Morals.
Ethically, as defined as the system of rules by which we live, in return for all the hard work that DA put into the game, we have to fork over the $50 to get it.
Morally though, as defined by the personal rules by which we define ourselves, we can pay as much or as little as we want.
Personally, when I think of all the hours I will play, probably well over 100, that's less than 50 cents an hour I paid for the game. I used to be able to earn that much when I was 8 years old by helping Dad with washing the car or some odd job. So IMHO the "I'm too poor to afford it" argument doesn't hold water. If money's really that much of a problem, ditch the broadband, sell the computer and find entertainment out playing ball. PC Gaming is a luxury.
So I-M, your choosing only pay $5 for the game may not be "wrong" in your point of view, according to your morals. However it IS WRONG according to our society's point of view. Basically, your choice of inaction (ie: planning on not purchasing the game) is akin to stealing the game. If you are comfortable with that, well there isn't much anyone can say or do about it to change your mind.
However, next time you hear anyone mention "unethical conduct" on TV in reference to some action that you think is wrong. Well, now you know exactly what they are talking about.
