There are capital ships in MP but they're station in one spot like bases and aren't destroyable. I will not answer spoiler questions, though I can say that multiplayer doesn't have the singleplayer story, and that the story is standard length. Not too long (hardcore RPGs or something) and not too short (Elite Force, just about any recent game). FL can't be defined primarily as either, it's just... Freelancer

I'm talking about both. It would be good, but their voices aren't that great. I mean, I would be a bad pick for a voice actor, even though I'm a random person. Some voices just don't work well in games

@krang: i think he means the one in the bars.. not sure though..
@troop5: no cap ships in MP sorry (except the ones to land on, and they are indestructible..)
@A176: Story: you'll have to find out yourself (no sign of the nomads 'till mission 7 at least, haven't been much further though)
there are, i think, about 13 missions, BUT some missions could easily be counted as 3 or 4 missions in other games...
@saber: I'd say FL is primarily an RPG, like Deus Ex. It just has a universe of possibilites to offer (*hehe* sorry, had to write that), then it's space-action.
(though i have to add: the universe of possibilities is a bit limited in SP)

In single-player, they limited your freedom a bit, so that they could control how powerfull your ship is at a certain point in the game..
in MP, your Pilot status is just determined by your wealth (the higher your status, the better the weapons and ships you can buy)
in SP, it's also dependend on the story-missions.

A quick question on the aftermath of a battle... Do all ship types drop collectable material? I realize a fighter isnt going to drop what a cargo ship will, but if you kill a bunch of pirates can you still collect some salvage (i.e., guns, ejected pilots, fuel)? I remember in privateer only the larger ships dropped items, and only the merchant ships dropped anything worthwhile.
Not all ships drop cargo or weapons and such. It's a totally random thing. Not all transports are full of cargo either so it helps to scan first, then kill

Thx for answering my questions
I have another question which Ive been thinking about.
!. In Elite you begin with a ship and a pulselaser. The only way to make fast bucks are to go out pirating, and blow up ships to make money. You get a bounty on what type of ship ya blow up. Or ya could go trading but that would take more time. I wonder is it possible to go straight out for bounty without taking a mission? And is there bounty on ships? I suppose only on pirateships. This all ends up in one question.
Is it possible to earn a good pile of money just on bountyhunting in the start of the game, or is it beter to combine it with missions?
Possible..sure. Piles of money is doubtful. The game rewards pilots who can "mix it up a bit" on their style of play early on. It's a good learning experience and get you comfortable with the controls (which is a key element). You can just run missions & you can just run cargo, but a combination of them both would serve you better. Once you become a little stronger and are able to defend yourself better, you career path might be easier to tighten up a bit one one line of work.

On the NDA: The beta testers can talk about the game, but not the beta test in itself. That one is still NDA stuff. So please don't post on things you only know as beta-testers, and not as people having played the game extensivly!
I'll lock this thread, because I think if people have questions they should start new threads! Thank you!
