@gromit
Excellent idea. A thread about building web sites with tutorial, questions and answeres. Most likely it would become a popular topic and would be worthy of sticking it up so it don't get buried. I say go for it if you want to donate your time and experience. Let me know when you start it. I'm sure we could all learn from and help add to the content and answer/ask questions. I for one would have some questions even though I read the books I don't understand everything.

Some of the gifs come from a shareware program called Schmaili that you can get from a shareware site. Anyone that cannot find it I'll be glad to steer you in the right direction. Just click on my email in the post and I will answer.

Maybe

Gromit, thankyou for the offer, but its okay - will stumble on in a bit (kinda left it due to the mod right now) the site i like was by this guy who is a polish photographer, and a website designer too........and yeah - it uses flash alright. I like the way he makes his sites, flash, cool and kinda artsey.......not very practical though, specially for 56kers!, but i do love the way the site is set out and everything.
Take a peek:
Mondo

Really like the sortta way this guy makes websites, but for me, am just trying to get round HTML and javascript. Its taking some time, so i dropped the javascript till i work out how to do stuff in HTML first - lol.

You seen my site, its as dull as '****' to put it politely! Still aint sure as to what i wanna do with it either though - its just for my own pleasure/fiddling around. Soon as i stop modding i will get back to HTML learning, and then finally get round to flash after Javascript - but gotta get a graphics prog for that! lol - money money money...dammit.

OH LOVE THE IDEA OF A THREAD!!!. Would take one heck of alot of time on your part though - so make sure you wanna spend that time on us lot - lol

Gromit...
LMFAO... first off... my blah blah thing was in refrence to this hole "better post in a different thread thing" not to what you have to say about my homepage. Second off my original post was in reference to my freelancer site which is now up and running and if you click the homepage button it should bring you right there, It was only activated as of yesterday so that is why you got the wonderful web1000 page. And if you can't see it this time around I don't know what to tell you because I know other people can get to it.

2nd off in reference to my "personal homepage" I really don't care if you don't like the "JIMAMP" setup, it's my site and I changing it. It's not like a I get enough traffic to warrent a change right away. My 19 whathever hundred hits was obtained over the past 3 years.

@chips - thats a nice looking site...it kinda reminds me of something that I'm working on at the moment. Have a look, there's a fair amount missing at the mo but you'll get the general idea....its a site promoting a drum and bass event organiser called "Breakology".

I think I will start the thread if there's enough interest, there are plenty of people on here that are pretty good at web design that could help me out with answering questions/critiques etc.

@KY - tell someone who's interested.

@ Gromit - the FIRST word out of my mouth was 'F***'

HOLY CRAP!!! my god, you MADE THAT SITE?? - its awesome!!

Bloody hell - i love it, very very nice. Have you got any more stuff that we can have a butchers at. Have bookmarked that site so i can keep an eye on it. You must be a busy guy making sites like that - its BRILLIANT!!!!

@chips - thanks, thats very nice of you to say its kind of a work in progress though...and the client keeps changing his mind so I've got a feeling it might get butchered. I've done over 500 sites in the last 6 years, but unfortunately I'm sworn to client confidentiality clauses so it wouldn't be a good idea to shout about them on an open forum...(I reckon you'd probably recognise the names of a lot of them though)...I can show you the breakology one, because they haven't paid me yet so the confidentiality contract doesn't apply yet.

But like I said before...if you need any tips, guides, tutorials or help in any way...its the least I can do for you letting me play with the TEMP mod. Cheers again

@ Gromit - the newer version of the mod is up on my site if you wanna dl it to test again. Have fixed bugs for crashes, and also lots of other little things, taken out a ship, added a new ship, moved some things round. I just gotta fly all the way to dublin or edinburgh to find my jumphole (to see if people are right that its impossible to find it - if that is true:

"Then lost a system Chips has...hmm...hmm.... hmmm....how embarassing..."
