You can start as a Bounty hunter in Manchester on Sheiffield station (with a pirahna), or as a trader with a Transport (yes, like the train) up in Honshu, a Kusari cop in New tokyo (in a drake) or as a pirate in teh badlands (with the bloodhound).

Its a TEMP ting offer Chips. . Ill test it on SP and tell you about it.

When your talking about this semi storyline thing and dropped hints in the loot/news, what excatly are you talking about?.
I was considering upping the Bounty Hunter possiblities for Freelancer, dropping a few things into the news, random comm links you get from others while flying around, rumours and stuff, that indicate there is a crook on the loose and there is a reward on his head, you follow the clues and finally track the guy down and kill him, and the get the bounty, maybe 1 mil or more.
Is this the sort of thing you were talking about?

sounds like a cool mod chips. i don't have much time but if uhh you need an other SP tester i'd like to give it a try (email in profile). sorry but i cant run a server.

erm - slight problem with the fact that a crash during the story has just been located. However, i can whack out the download tomorrow about noon for poeple if they wish. This will include several of the Open SP variants you can play to check for bugs instead of storyline (if you so wish)!. Of course, once the problem with the crash is found, then i can either a) Fix the download, or b) Create a patch that will change the files for the testers (that way you only receive something about the size of 100k instead of 10 meg - ps, don't let the size decieve you, there is one heck of alot in this mod!

There is a prob with my Open SP mods right now. Not that they are wrong, its a bug with FLMM - cos you get the option of choosing where you start and what ship with for each of the following:

Outcast
Corsair
Police
Trader
Bounty Hunter
Pirate

For example, when activating the outcast mod - you get asked where you would like to start. You can choose from Normal (manhatten), Magellan system (hackers - i know), Omicron Beta (Outcasts) and Omicron Alpha (Outcasts). The ships you can choose are from : Default (starflier), Dagger, Stilleto, Sabre.

This happens for EACH one that you choose, but with different ships and locations to start. First time that this has been done for you, nice eh?. There is also the starting ship choice version - where you can choose from any of the 15 fighters i selected for you to actually start the storyline in! Not bad eh?

Eventually - the extra featured storyline will be the same too! Where you will actually get to choose which puzzle to start with! How good is that idea people. You could choose from several different storylines instead of just one.

Chips, i'll be MP testing, but could you send the open sp mods to me anyway? They sound REALLY good, and i would like to try them.
