I Think it would be good if people would no who you are, in the story its all over the news at the end that you got a medal n **** but no one nos who you are, it would be good if ppl like knew who you were and wot you did. even when you say ur names trent they still dnt no who you are "is this your first time here" (no you ****er) is wot he should say, after he gets pissed off propper from everyone saying it.

yeah so if u understand wot im on about (well done, cus i aint explained it too good!!)

I'd like to see a new class of ship, the shuttle. That opens up the ability to carry passengers and VIPs. Also I'd like to see my actions take affect in galactic events. If I do a lot of missions against the Hessians for the Corsairs, the Hessians should be beaten back out of Omega-5 and the Cosairs should spread more in the systems that Omega-5's jump holes lead to.

ive said it before and ill say it again the ability to own more than one ship and for a storey line at the start the universe should be over ruled by the corsairs and trent and juni then flee back to earth to conjur up an army to destroy them!!!!!

Since this is a 'wish-list', here's what I wish for (This is all with multiplayer in mind, but most would apply for SP too):

1) Asteroids that actually move, and its quite an effort to make it through without at least loosing all your shields and most of your hull, think 'Empire strikes back' sort of thing, I'd like huge asteroids you can fly into too, and have a bit of gravity so you don't have to compensate for their rotation/etc.

2) I want to be able to blow up stations, even if it does take 50 sunslayers, if you were docked on the station, the screeen would start blinking red at the sign of the first impact so that you would have a chance to undock/escape.

3) Cities on planets, and missions between them, such as: Destroy the rougue base at the end of this cave in this mountain range, stay below 500m. And you'd have to watch out for turrets mounted along valley sides etc.

4) A battle/team/tdm mode so that teams can wage war, etc (political player enablement also).

5) Better AI, make them at least act like they want to live.

Some ideas taken from the original elite:
A) Cash rewards for killing ships, regardless if you are on a mission or not. Though this could be limited to non-borderworld systems.
Player status depending on number of kills: Harmless->Mostly Harmless->Dangerous->Deadly->Elite, that sort of thing.
C) More variety in missions (carrying cargo/people, etc.)

6) Higher variety of ships, and ship storage. You could own/build a station, and set base prices, and trends, and faction alliances, then take a profit of some percentage on each trade transaction.

As for mr. MBA, I think if FL supported joystick input it would be more popular, and wouldn't give 50% of the community too much to complain about... initially. So 7) Joystick support.

8) Customizable input, so if I press a button I can have my mouse roll the ship left and right instead of move it.

I think we can sum up all of the wishlist created in the last few months in the fact that we want Freelancer to be like GTA: Vice City, only in space.

personally I would be bothered with an expansion. Be realistic, in the best case senario, we would get some more ships, some more space to flie trhough and maybe an extra faction or two with some "special" assinments. Digital Anvil came up with a pretty damn good universe. I doubt the fact that they will even bring a sequel that has too much resemblance with Freelancer. As far as I see it, the freelancer concept has been done greatly, and it's time to move on. (at least that's what I think)

New Features (F) & Mission Types (M)
---------------------------------------------
all of which may have been brought up elsewhere, but described by myself of how they might work...

(F) - Player Space Dock (Garage) - Able to "park"/store ships so you can fly other ships without losing yout current ship, equipment & weapons - to get this feature to work, a few things would need to be in place...

1.Access to a small space craft, with 2 weapons hardpoints and a cruise disrupter hardpoint, this space craft cannot dock with jumpgates or tradelanes and would have no cargo space, sold everywhere.

2.Ability to target a vessel and be able to board the vessel (to take control of), said vessel must have its shield down, you then lose your small space craft.

3.Docking (storing) a ship would cost a small fortune and can only be done on a planet, also (and this is a maybe), you can only store a ship on planet if you are at least neutral with the planet's faction, if you become an enemy of that faction you lose your ship (this would make you care a bit more about who you fight for/against)

4.These methods would then mean you can steal another ship, of course my description is very brief, i'm sure there are alot of other considerations that you must overcome.

(M) - Salvage/Repair Mission - you must hunt down an object, grid co-ords would be given but it will not be any where near the place you accepted the mission.

1. The object types are Covert Satallite/Nav Buoy/Communications Satallite/????

2. You must tractor in the object, your onboard computer would then tell you the damage ratio of the object, it may just require nanobots, which you could use on the object, or you may have to actually return the object to where you accepted the mission (massive hardware fault) and they may ask you to put it back (for a few more credits), or you may also have to take it to the nearest spacestation for a quick fix and then take it back

3. the great thing about this mission is that if its a Covert object, you could take it to a rival faction and they will buy it from you, thus failing the original mission, but increasing your level with the rival faction

4. You could of course just happen to find a damaged object while your flying about, the scanner would tell you who it belongs to and you could take it to them and collect a small reward (but thats where it ends)

5. If you jettison the object before it has been fixed you have 20 seconds to pick it up again or you will fail the mission (not important if you just found it lying around in space)

6. Sometimes it could be a trap and a rival faction is waiting to ambush you, if you are neutral or better with that rival faction, they will ask you to put it back or you may lose your status with them (you would of course fail the mission though)

feedback???

(F) - Your Level Based Missions - When you go back to liberty for example, you are able to accept mission based on your current level

1. Mission are paid on your status, i.e. your level 38 and you will be paid more money because the missions are harder

2. Liberty Rogues are easy to kill, well... because Liberty knows what level you are they are sending you to attack better AI pilots (14-17)

3. This means that enemies have the abilty to fly better (civilian???) ships and have access to better weapons etc...

4. This will give you a reason to venture back into the core systems, instead of sticking to boarder worlds

(M) - Passenger Missions - you will be able to transport people from place to place, the further the distance the more money you get

1. Your ship will need to be fitted with a new piece of equipment (Cargo Bay Conversion Kit - Elite anyone?!??!)

2. There are different types of passengers and would pay different amount of money...
VIP
criminal
prisoner
agent
commoner
??????

3. Each would require a different level of accomodation, with a different amount of cargo space dedicated to it....
a.Basic - ok for commoner/criminal - 10 cargo space
b.Secure - Prisoner - 15 cargo space
c.Modist - higher paying commoner/agent - 20 cargo space
d.Executive - VIP - 40 cargo space
of course the cost would be relative to the standard of accomodation

4.You could take a Prisoner back to their homeworld (?!?!?!) and you would recieve more money, but fail the mission... likewise with different passengers

feedback???

whether an add on is realistic or not, if one is released i would expect it to be mainly what the game was meant to be
ie tying up the lose ends ie shields that no ship can mount (what had they in mind?) a couple of systems/planets, which seem to be part of something else
they had in mind
but with rebalance etc doing the rounds i suspect it might not be soon or to everyones taste
though having said that i would buy it !

i would like to see the corsairs etc expand there area of influence when you take on enough missions for them
