how would you improve FL

how would you improve FL

1. More commodities
2. Some commodities are legal in some places and illegal in others
3. Rescue missions
4. Missions in more than one system
5. Missions with time limits
6. Err more ships guns equipment
7. Hireable wingmen, spies and mining ships so you get paid
8. Bounty hunters hunting you who would follow you threw var systems
9. Chill time on nice planets (holidays)
10. Opportunities to gamble you cash away or WIN!
11. Getting ripped off by commodities sellers ie finding the water is polluted and cant be sold etc
12. Random weapon failures
13. Duff ammo for missiles dud fire etc
14. Getting radiation sickness and have to get treated as well as Trent (you) getting injured and needing patching up.
15. Random events one offs like meeting a scout bunch of nomads or other aliens etc
16. Planets having civil wars and becoming a different faction or who wont let you land trade etc
17. Unlimited levels
18. Gambling by doing races round courses (like in the story) or other skill competitions
19. Getting addicted to drugs like combat enhancers (in game faster ship reactions etc) and getting treated or going cold turkey when jumped by 8 outcast stilettos.
20. AI ships have different flying/combat techniques some brave some crafty some cowards some head on some bob and weave etc.

Any others?

21. The Houses going to war with eachother
22. Planets/bases being taken over by pirates
23. Getting a bounty on your head by factions (and being able to check it out. Would be pretty cool seeing a 1.000.000 bounty on your head)
24. Being contacted by the Order for missions, or take missions at all from the Order.
25. Being contacted by Juni or King for a Mission.
26. Dynamic universe.
27. More Systems, besides Sirius.

28. Dynamic economy (not like it says on the box, but a real one)
29. Larger systems. Some systems seem only about 40k in size, other 200. wtf
30. Better placement of planets around the sun. I swear, some planets look like they'd collide in the same orbital path.
31. More missions. Better missions.
32. MORE NPC's More character interaction. They could have implemented this easily.

I think they left out some of these features to port this onto the X-BOX

I'd start with mission variety in the bars... then stop the idiot "you're new here..." lines too !!! Also switch off the automatic generation of waypoints - make you use the map or search for things in sectors

In the bars:
a) rescue a pod mission floating near something - have to search for it no big bloody waypoint marker stuck over it automatically like I can't cope with complex tasks... (grrrr....)
b) disable a guy's engine only mission (then gets 'picked up' by police or something or mission-giving faction)
c) escort mission, both simple and complex (ie dangerous)
d) scout mission (ie do a scan of a ship or just land on a planet then come back)
e) ferry mission - a guy wants you to take him somewhere... (low pay!)
f) ferry mission 2 - a guy wants you to take him somewhere but turns out he's being hunted by others, thus have to leg it or fight it
g) take a package somewhere, like above, either simple delivery or contraband.... or don't know til you start to fly the mission!
h) fight a duel!!!
i) test a weapon or ship....

these are just some mission ideas that casually spring to mind (and a quick demonstration too that DA or Microsoft put so little effort into the mission creation bit of the game... grrrrrr - 2)

Tachyon: The Fringe had this & it was cool. Casinos!

34. Capital Ships as big & Impressive as in FreeSpace II.

35. New Player Ship Types: Bomber; Mounts multiple Torps, Lots of Hardpoints
but low Optimal Weapons Class, for Missiles

36. Hanger that Holds 3 ships, like in Tachyon.

37. Dare I say it?... Yes, the J-word. I LOVED Slide in Tachyon!!!!!!
Yes, I know that FL has 'Z - Engine Kill', but it's just not the same without a joystick.

I would like to see a level 10 light fighter. Maybe several varieties. A LF that's about as manueverable as a Dagger and has 9/10 loadout with 4 gun mounts. Then maybe a LF with 2 gunmounts that has a powerplant that can sustain 2 Diamondbacks for 30-35 seconds of continuous fire and is as least as maneuverable as the Drake. For variety, a LF,HF,VHF with only turret mounts, but no regular guns.

I used to have a mac but recanted and bought a PC and FL was my first game. It resembles a Game called Escape Velocity. Im Sure you don't care so ill get to the point. I think that there should be some more ship classes (which im sure mods will do). and 2 i wouldprobably add escape pods and more Random attacks by aliens and the such.

38. make the models of battleships better and bigger, they are ugly and small.the battle ship should be very huge.
39. the speed is too low for spaceship only 300m/s.
40. should enhance the auto pilot system, make it can go through all the way point automatically, this is not stone age.
41. a battleship should have tons of cannos, not just a few.
42. increase the projectile speed, it is slow, i can't believe that is beam, beam runs fast as light.
43. make more things dockable and destructable.
44. more kinds of ships, improve the ugly model.
45. why can't empoly some npcs to do thing for me?
if i can start a mighty company which has a few battle ships and tons of freighters and fighters, that will have more fun.
46. make each space eqaul, no level step.
47. improve the language system. the japanese and germans all have american accent, that 's wierd.

I would...

Download a bunch of mods that fix a bunch of things, add a bunch more things, and put some new ships in there.

Oh hell, whaddaya know!

I would like it to have a gazzilion systems, with every star having at least 500 bases, with more than 100 gazillion guns and upgrades to buy for a million ship seperated into 50 classes and more than a gazillion resource to mine and about 12000 gazzilion scripted mission..

man , this will make fl great, and it will come in a gazzilion cd..

*******LEVEL REQUIREMENTS FOR MISSIONS*******
For in between SP missions or other missions i would like to level up when i like before getting another mission from anybody. For i would like to get some of those heavy fighters where u need to be greater than lv 20 before even finishing the SP game. I know there's a mod out their that removes lv req. for ships etc. but takes the fun out of it.
