how would you improve FL

50. Asteroids and commets on set course through or elipitical orbits around a system. Can cause tremendous damage to ships in space lanes or unsuspecting stations that happen to be in their way.

51. Super destroyers.

52. Realistic market economy (ie having to borrow money from a bank to purchase your ship and pay back the money with interest or have to deal with Repo men, and the dirty word "taxation"

53. Manage a fleet of ships (cargo, bouty hunters, etc.) working for you.

54. <Expands on an earlier suggestion another user had> Massive area assaults in an all out factional war. Especially against destructable space stations.

55. Disputed Sol sector, all factions fighting for control of Earth (a mod I'm working on), all factions are present in same areas for heated battles.

57. Occasional idiot pilots who crash or get destroyed, then you hear it on a newswire or in-flight radio with a news channel (that would be awesome) so you can go loot the destroyed wreck before Emergency services arrive.

58. Complete walkaround city freedom, combine FL with Grand Theft Auto.

59. Be able to report crimes, and after a while receive notice of their capture for trial, their death or the escape from prosecution.

60. Have a home, a place to go back to where you can put an ever growing wealth into making it the best home on the block.

61. Purchase properties or companies, such as ship builders or ship yards, then you get all your ships at cost as long as it pertains to your company. Construction companies or commodity producing companies as well.

62. A variable stock market for each faction, when their economy is bad, you probably wouldn't want to try and sell luxury goods.

63. Being able to have a human transport ship, like a passenger airplane.

64. A revolving system of planets that continue on their orbits around their stars.

If I could make improvements to FL I would add.....
1) Greater variety of random missions (specific examples already listed above).
2) Reputation at individual bases - after a few missions you are KNOWN there and the REAL new people (NPCs) stop asking if you are new.
3) Increase the scale of the systems (bigger suns, planets, greater distances between landmarks). I find the current distances and speeds very .... small. I think a magnitude of 100 would be a good place to start.
4) Have the local economies vary depending on trade. If I bring in a huge load of engine parts I expect the sale price to go down as the demand just dropped. Set a timer on it like highly perishable items and as they get reduced the price goes back up. This will also balance out some of the ridiculasly easly trade routes and make the less common routes more appealing in both SP and MP.
5) Customization of the HUD display and better Hotkey mapping. I would really love to have Hotkey to toggle the various target filters.
